Don't you guys remember??

Get your facts straight Nintendo didn´t betray Sony, it was Sony trying to fuck Nintendo with a little clausul hidden in the contract that would give away all rights to games produced for the cd to Sony wich would mean that Sony would own all Nintendos IP´s by now if Nintendo didn´t back out of that deal.

Do your research and you will see it was Sony screwing over Nintendo by stealing the techinfo they got to see and used it in the PS 1 and not only that they did the same thing to Sega.

They combined the tech from both those companies and made PS 1 they didn´t even have a single idea for themselves untill PS 2 and got into the buisness by stealing and moneyhating.

1So, Sony should make CD drive for Nintendo console and NINTENDO SHOULD TAKE ALL THE PROFIT?????

2And Its only Nintendo's fault they lost 2 generations. If they didn't tuned to Philiphs they wouldn't get owned in next 2 gens.

3''Sony screwing over Nintendo by stealing the techinfo''

4That's why Nintendo turned to Sony and made them make CD drive for their console??? What a bad decision. Why didn't Nintendo made CD drives themselfes back than???

1. It was not about the profit it was about the owning rights, so you think by Sony making a CD drive they all of a sudden have the right to own Mario and zelda and so on?

If you truly believe that then you must be stupid, Nintendo hired Sony to do the CD and in nno way should Sony have tried to get the owning rights to Nintendos properties and of course they should have been in on the profits made of the cd drive but that was not the case they tried to get all the rights of nintendos properties and thats the backstabbing Sony did and not the other way around.

2. Yes it was Nintendo´s fault that they lost (and even though I hated Sony really for what they did back then we got so many classic games out of it) but if they went with Sony´s backstabbing deal there wouldn´t be any Nintendo today because Sony would have own all their franchises and Sony would have killed both Nintendo and Sega at the same time.

3. Yes they did during their colaboration with both sega and nintendo they got to see classified information for both companies consoles wich they then in turn backstabbed bot ninty and sega and released the PS 1.

4. Nintendo wasn´t and isn´t in the CD buisness thats why they didn´t do that themselves, why did Sony steal tech from sega and Nintendo to do the PS 1 and not make an honest attempt by them selves instead of the stealing route they took?

I am happy today that things went as they did even though I wasn´t back then because the games that has come out of this have been amazing wether it be from Sony or Nintendo but that is no excuse to forget the past and the truth about it.

If you want to discuss this more then do you research and come back or else I won´t even bother replying to you as I am saying the same things over and over again.

When was Sony dealing with SEGA?? Can you please explain that

Too lazy to do your own reserch?

There goes your credibility since you rather talk about how you want things to be then actually reaserching how they are.

For this time i will do it for you but for future discussion you have to do it your self.

Here goes:

Sega of Japan, partnering with Sony, refused to consult with Sega's American division until the project was completed—Sega of America had to assemble parts from various "dummy" units to obtain a working prototype.[1] While it became known for several games, such as Sonic CD, the expansion only sold 6 million units worldwide.[2]

If you want to see a documentary about console history where they mention this downbload Azureus(or Vuze as it is called now) they have a selection of different videos you can download and watch for different subjects and one of them is the history of consoles and you will see what i talk about. They also have The history of Nintendo/Sega/Sony and so on.

So how does this prove that SONY stole tech from Nintendo and Sega?

Where did i say that proved it?

I answered his question about when did Sony have anything to do with Sega.

Read my last comment after the link and you will find a documentary that talks about it and if you read up Nintendo sued Sony in the US when they were about to release the PS 1 wich in turn lead to Sony deciding in early 1993 to begin reworking the "Play Station" concept.

I only knew about the Nintendo part of their decite because it was in the gaming news over here back then but if you download the documentary I wrote above they talk about they doing the same to Sega during the sam timeframe.

Other than that I have nothing to say about the mutter unless you your selves do the research becuse if you don´t then it´s my word against yours and that will get us nowhere.

I know the "Get N or Get Out" kind of mad some parents angry but I still don't understand.

I mean, in my opnion, it has a great library of games.

Could somebody care to explain to me?

Probably just because the Playstation was competitively priced, used CD's, and had better 3rd party games. Even though Nintendo dominated in 1st party, the PS had more total games.

I owned the Saturn, PS1 and N64 and I think the 64's game library was pretty weak. The only thing that amazed me about the 64's sales is the ffact that it surpassed the far more awesome Saturn.

Around the Network

The use of cartridges made developers switch to sony because cartridges hold less data and cost alot more to manufacture and produce.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Basically, FFVII could fit on two to three N64 carts if the data was compressed a hell of a lot, but the price for each copy would be horrible.

It was really lucky the Gameboy used a different format, which is why their carts didn't cost as much, and taking off from there ensure the DS had great profit margin with its games.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I had both, the N64 and the PS1.

Must tell that the marketing compaign got me a little bit for sony ( you know being in your teenage years you don't want to be a kiddy ), and I reckon that goes for many others as well.

But the biggest problem was the storage on the cartridge: a maximum of 512 MBit! That's just 64 Mbyte(and that just in the last years of that gen)! Even at that time it was incredible low.

PC games started to go cinematic with four disc-games like Under a killing moon and the Wing Commander series three years before the N64 came out, and the PS brought some of this feeling to the console market. The CD-Rom had become the regular standard by that time without a doubt.

Same for the most popular genre at that time: RTS. I loved Command and Conquer, but it needed a long, long time to see it coming to the N64.  Not for the PS, it was out quite soon, and developers didn't need to get rid of the cutscenes, voice-overs, even music etc. Remember that's what still amazed people at that time!

Same goes for all the other games that finally came out. Show me one game which wasn't delayed and you'll surprise me. I waited 2 years for harvest moon just to find out, that it wouldn't come out in Europe. Well by that I already had bought the PS-version...

The only things the N64 made better were the controller (in my opinion still the best non-motion controller ever made) and that you could play it with 4 players. And this is actually the reason why I still play some Golden Eye, while I actually never played the PS with friends except for Tekken.

From a nowadays standpoint, the N64 was the system I personally had more fun with, but that's probably due to multiplaying. I keep it in good memory for that, but it's perfectly safe to say, that it's pretty clear why it didn't come in as first.

Hey N64, thanks for making me wait half a decade for Mother 3. :|
