Lost Odyssey has about 15 hours of cinematics. It came on 4 discs.

I doubt this game being the same size as Lost Odyssey. 

There is such an obvious difference in quality of the two titles.

I would be surprised if it was only 4 discs.

they're making 100 GB blu ray (or i think they already did?)
it might be 4 double layered DVDs , but really who cares as long as the game is good.

According to that article, ratio wise of 5gb for 1hr of gameplay, then we can say roughly 1 DL DVD = 1.5hrs of gaming yes? ...roughly how long will this game be? if its roughly 10-20hrs maybe 7-14 DL DVDs? (assuming SE doesnt have some kind of compressing)

I understand that FF13 will have more graphics. It's 2 years between them. But Lost Odyssey had far more cinematics than previous FF games. It's cinematics that take the room in Jrpg's. So I think it will be similar in size of game.

As for quality of game. FF13 has alot to stand up to to beat LO. Considering where I rank LO. :)

Well considering where the rest of the world ranks LO I would say it doesn't have too much to stand up to. Final Fantasy has been a AAA franchise while LO isn't.

I would also doubt seeing FFXIII with LO's god awful load times.
