Forums - Nintendo Discussion - should rareware return as a nintendo developer?

Nintendo buying back Rare wouldn't really fix anything.

Now, if they'd picked up Free Radical, however . . .

we remember the prestige rareware had , when they were a nintendo devellper, some games just never be forgotten, like donkey kong country 1.2.3 , goldeney, perfect dark, jet force gemini...........and may be the last game on gamecube starfox adventure (good sell, one of the best gamecube graphics ).

since they become microsoft develloper, they just lost their prestige, and i see them like any small develloper , rare are not like what they were in the past, may be a comeback to nintendo , will bring them to the top like in the past.

 1. This should be in gaming discussion because MS owns RARE now and not Nintendo.

2. THis is the worst non hidden troll ever.

Look just because you don't like the games that are coming out doesn't mean that they are bad, just ask dsister.

Rare have made new games, unlike other companies they are trying new things, see viva pinata for a perfect example, N & B is another great example. Who would have seen that coming, i personally liked N&B and i have a guilty liking for Pinata as well. Who knew farming was enjoyable?

Give Rare a break, if you don't like them so much why would you want them to come to nintendo, oh and there is no way MS is selling Rare, they are giving MS the casual feel this gen, they need Rare, look at the NXE. That was Rare, i cannot wait to see RARE's new games, hopefully it will shut some stupidity down, like the OP.

Anyone who has ever played Harvest Moon :) (sorry I couldn't resist)

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

Jet Force Gemini 2. That's reason enough.

put the original team together and they will make great games on any system...but yeah i would like to see them back at Nintendo

I started making videos for youtube; check them out.

Systems owned: Atari 2600, NES(3), Top loader NES, Yobo NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Gamegear, Sega Nomad, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Playstation 2, Wii, PS3 (slim 120 GB), Wii U

You should congratulate me. I destroyed the vile red falcon and saved the universe. I consider myself a hero.

Nintendo should buy them just to have the rights of the games and characters

The original poster is correct Rare would regain some prestige if it were to magically once again be a Nintendo second party developer, but lets face it the 64 was a two horse town. The Cube was a one horse town, and the Wii is a one horse town. It is easy to look godly when there are only two high end developers on a console. No knocks here the high quality third party games are going to the high definition consoles. The less then great is going to the Wii.

Unfortunately all the rest is crap. Rare is not a shitty developer, and is not a shitty developer on the 360. In fact they are an above average developer. Review the reviews if you could be bothered to do so. Perfect Dark, Viva Pinata, Viva Pinata 2, Nuts and Bolts, and Kameo. All have average reviews of over eighty. How many developers are both that prolific, and that consistent.

What everyone does with Rare is look backwards and forget the bad and focus only on the good. Rare had some super hits, but they also brought a number of average and below average titles to the market as well. Bottom line they cancel one another out. You may not have a Goldeneye yet, but you also do not have a Mickey speedway either.

Speaking to boycotting this is a word to the wise. Nintendo was too self involved to buy half a company that provided their console with a dozen exclusive titles. They deserved to lose Rare, because they failed to appreciate them. Microsoft appreciated them, and actually wanted to have them. Rare wasn't stolen from Nintendo.

Further more screwing with game shelves does not effect the companies. It effects the retail clerk that has to clean up after your juvenile pranks. Your causing some poor soul even more grief then they already have to put up with. Someone who is just trying to make an honest living. Most of them are not even allowed to ask you to stop if they see you doing that crap. So on behalf of them let me just say this. Do not be an ASSHOLE.

Rare should just make Jet Force Jemini 2 and Battletoads again. Then gamestop will implode.
