The original poster is correct Rare would regain some prestige if it were to magically once again be a Nintendo second party developer, but lets face it the 64 was a two horse town. The Cube was a one horse town, and the Wii is a one horse town. It is easy to look godly when there are only two high end developers on a console. No knocks here the high quality third party games are going to the high definition consoles. The less then great is going to the Wii.

Unfortunately all the rest is crap. Rare is not a shitty developer, and is not a shitty developer on the 360. In fact they are an above average developer. Review the reviews if you could be bothered to do so. Perfect Dark, Viva Pinata, Viva Pinata 2, Nuts and Bolts, and Kameo. All have average reviews of over eighty. How many developers are both that prolific, and that consistent.

What everyone does with Rare is look backwards and forget the bad and focus only on the good. Rare had some super hits, but they also brought a number of average and below average titles to the market as well. Bottom line they cancel one another out. You may not have a Goldeneye yet, but you also do not have a Mickey speedway either.

Speaking to boycotting this is a word to the wise. Nintendo was too self involved to buy half a company that provided their console with a dozen exclusive titles. They deserved to lose Rare, because they failed to appreciate them. Microsoft appreciated them, and actually wanted to have them. Rare wasn't stolen from Nintendo.

Further more screwing with game shelves does not effect the companies. It effects the retail clerk that has to clean up after your juvenile pranks. Your causing some poor soul even more grief then they already have to put up with. Someone who is just trying to make an honest living. Most of them are not even allowed to ask you to stop if they see you doing that crap. So on behalf of them let me just say this. Do not be an ASSHOLE.
