So about a couple years ago I discovered System Shock 2 after various forum posts praising it. I must say that the game was far better than I expected. The game was released right around the time of Half Life, but I heard very little about it at the time. In my opinion the game was just as good but never became as famous. The story telling was top notch through audio files. I haven't played bioshock yet so I have yet to offer a comparison. Yatzee's review made a little concerned.

System Shock 2 offered a great deal of complexity with classes. The sound design was exceptional and scared the hell out of me. I also haven't seen a well designed villian (group of villans) as the many in a very long time.

I am sure I could go on for longer but I am curious what the community has to say.

 

What is your favorite underrated game and why?



Yes I am a fan of the Playstation 3, but I am an even bigger fan of intelligent and rational dialog. (If you are up for an intelligent exchange of ideas, you are more than welcome to add me as a friend)

can it be from another gen?. for me is legend of the dragoon from the PS1. that game is the best RPG i have played in all my life and my favorite game of all times and it got such low reviews. i dont know why is truly an incredible, awesome, amazing, epic game.

It can be from any gen... to be honest I havent been that up on this generation since I have been busy

I say Azure Dreams first,because Gamespot gave it a 7.3 on the PS 11 years ago.

However, Legend of Dragoon is more recognized, and wildly underrated. I think at the time,when it came to RPGs ,people swore by Final Fantasy. Everything else just "didn't compare" and got docked in reviews for no valid reason.

So I'll go with LOD as my favorite underrated game.
