Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Branching Quick Time Events in Zelda Wii

IGN can go **** themselves. QTEs are the worst thing to happen to video games since, well, I don't know what. The point is they suck. I'm really tired of Sega's crappy innovations catching on with developers.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

I gat an axe 2 grind.Seems like I didn't phrase that well.@MAjin-Tenshinan,IGN was talking bout GOW3.I was the one talking bout zelda(notice the quotation marks around the 1st paragraph?).I meant it like the CSAs you guys mentioned, not compulsory, mandatory QTEs.I've posted in a few threads b4 dat I loved the hidden sword skills(though they were too strong 4 most enemies) but I wanted hidden skills for all the other weapons. So basically what I'm saying is I want to be able to chain about 3 to 6 moves together, swapping between my weapons as I feel like.Freestyle.
About the bomb-in-the-collar thing,I didn't mean it like shove a bomb down his throat and watch his head blow up.I meant like attach it 2 his collar, push him away, watch his eyes comically pop out as he realises it,BOOM!Watch him get flung away b4 blowing up with zelda-style particle effects. And besides, twilight princess WAS M-rated!

Twilight Princess was rated T for Teen in America. That means the game was rated for 13 year olds and up.

no i don't want no damn button showing up on screen, just enhance the already improving combat.

like last game was sweet in the jamming shield into enemy and then flipping over him and other specials they had into the game. the sheathed sword uick draw, ect. They could implement the so called hookshot, pull over and place bomb and then kick away for all I care as well but don't make it some stupid pushing buttons like god of war and heavenly sword, resident evil 4 ect. I hate those things when a button pops up.

make it normal combat specials you can do any time and not just during bosses and when they let you. I mean they added in the zelda game putting bombs on the arrows, and the said combat specials you learn, it is only natural the next game will improve and bring more to the table.

kindom hearts 2 pulled it off and still was E OR Teen

Quick time events in ZELDA? Screw that.

NO. QTEs are stupid. I hate them in God of War because all my attention is focused on the symbol that pops up in the middle so I can make sure I hit it correctly. I miss what's going on in the background.

God I hope not, quick time events aren't nearly as fun as some people think they are.

Give me puzzle solving over lazy design any day.

I loved Shenmue and didn't bother me in that game but QTE isn't for Zelda.

Indeed, quick time events events are indeed stupid! I mean how redundant can it get! :P

I do agree with you about GoW, I always have to focus so much on the QTE events that I can't really tell what's going on in the background. It was horrible while playing that huge boss towards the end of GoW2 because I could faintly see Kratos doing some badass moves in the background, but thanks to having to focus so much on the QTE events, I couldn't tell what was actually happening.
