I finally got round to buying a DS because of the world ends with you. Also got round to buying a ps2 when GTA3 came out. Not the only games i would play on the console, just the tipping stones that made me spash out.

I try not to buy any system for just one game. The only system I've ever violated that rule for is my PS2 (which I got mainly for FFX), and even there, I didn't get one until there had been a price drop on it and it was clear that that was where the games I was interested in were definitely going.

My rule of thumb is at least 5 games I want already out for a system before I'll even consider it, though there are sub-rules to consider too (like the overall dominance of the system for the types of games I'm interested in, the stability and reliability of the hardware, the price of entry, the standard price for new games, etc.).

wait, GT5 isn't even out yet! anyway, for me it was a 360 for Halo 3... talk about a disappointment. first the cliffhanger in Halo 2, then that stupid ending in Halo 3....and you're lucky to have a launch PS3.

Nope, can't say I have bought a console for just one game. Although a game might have made me more interested in the deciding factor of which console to get.
