As a reminder, both console were designed as the same time... and it is not like the PS3 had a brilliant start, even a year later...

I was personaly tired to wait, for a console that was too much hyped and way to much expensive for a gaming device.



 

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Congrats Microsoft!! This lead should coninue to grow till the iminent price cut by sony which is sourly needed,(hell, it was needed a year ago).

This.

360's lead over PS3 was 5.5 million after 1 year of 360, without the PS3 on the market.
2 years later the lead has only widened to 8 million, so it's only gaining 1.3 million per year on the PS3.
It's clear that the PS3 being released seriously impacted the gap growth of the 360 over the PS3.

Ummm  I was just playing around when I "coughed up the one year lead". You guys took it way too seriously lol.

And how can I be a "ps3 fanboy"? In my immediate family we have 3 Xbox's?  2 in my house alone, plus my oldest son has one at his house? I like playing games man, not worshiping the consoles they are played on. I hope they all sell 100 million units, just more games for me to play. I dont care which console sells the most.

X360 is the cheapest console now and still cant outsell the Wii so it looks like it never will - though they are doing ok.
The PS3 is the most expensive console and if the moderate upcomming price cut can evens things out then the X360 will really be the biggest looser - MS will have to give them away to hold that 8M lead and the % gap is continuing to close !.

Being outsold by 2 consoles which are more expensive is on the cards anyone can see it.
MS quality perceptions MS really need to improve - it will be a case of them being beat by the Wii and PS3 even though they have the lowest price console. Nintendo and even Sony seem to have a better consumer quality perception comapred to MS people dont mind paying more for quality - will be interesting to see the effect of the price cut, and how much lead MS can grab before it happens.
