I don't think it will be a very resource heavy game, since blizzard has a history of optimizing their games to the best possible, maybe they will be on par with Titan Quest requirements, geforce 6600 and pentium 4 3,0 GHz, 1 GB recommended.

I was a huge Diablo 2 fan, but I doubt I will get Diablo 3 (or wait for a cheap battle chest edition). It was great that D2 was suck a massive time sink, but that is also why I should probably avoid D3.
