Not always an issue with LCD (not all scalers are created equal).  Generally, older lower-end models it's more likely to be an issue.

Well it doesn't look as good as an HD game but that never bothered me. I thought MP3 had quite a polish too it that made it stand out pretty well. I mean its no Super Mario Galaxy, of course, but it still looked quite fantastic.

I can play any game that may have more "realistic" graphics and it still won't bother me if I come down in graphics. Why? Because as long as the polish is fine then who really cares what it looks like compared to something else. Well it actually doesn't matter because I doubt the look of any other game would really affect the atmosphere in the current game your playing unless the games are eerily similar. Guess that's why people compare shooters all the time becuase of the lack of advancements in them.

imo sd games look better on a standard sd tv, if you are not using componant.

im actually moving my wii upstairs to use on my sd telly, it looks good enough, just got mario kart and its a fantastic game.

I disagree with most, I think it looks very good and is not far behind most HD games, Id say hd games look 20% better. All MP3 has going against it, is lower resolution. Double that and it would look just as good as a 360 game.

MP3 has a fantastic art direction, brilliant sound, superb level design, great boss battles, which make it worth playing. Having SD resolution dose not make it unplayable.

(My opinion are based on playing Wii through component cables, 360 over hdmi on a 32"LG LCD.

By the way, I have to mention framerate in this discussion. Most HD games run at 30 fps, with quite a lot of framerate drops. I noticed this both in Halo 3 and Gears of War, not to mention GTA4.

Metroid Prime 3 runs at 60 fps, with rare framerate drops. Nintendo could well have made MP3's graphics better, but they wisely chose framerate over the ability to create flashy screenshots.

lol ye they have a fuzzy look to them, but its solid and smooth so id give it a high score in grafix dept.

just because a game isnt running in hd doesnt make it look bad.

Well there is no doubt that MP3's graphics are inferior to nearly all 360 first person shooters...however, that does not mean that MP3 is an inferior game to nearly all 360 first person shooters....having followed the Metroid Prime series, I don't really care if the graphics are inferior to some boring generic 360 first person shooter, all I care about is getting a great Metroid Prime game.

I'm amazed by the amount of gamers obsessed with graphics??? All that counts is fun! I have both a 360 and a Wii and both have given me great games. Yes the 360 has better graphics, but it will never ever have a Metroid game which is why I must have a Wii.

Put it this way...the PS3 has far better graphics than the PS2, but I own a PS2 and right now if I didn't own a PS2 and someone offered me either a free PS2 or a free PS3 (and you are not allowed to sell them), I would take the PS2 as regardless of graphics, the PS2 has far far better games.

real graphics whores use pc. That way you maximise resolution and processing speed.
