It is a good game. Not a great one, nor broken.

However, the IGN review does not reflect this.

The word choice does not help illustrate how terrible the game is, but simply the reviewer's bitterness. Who knows if the resentment is toward Namco Bandai, Tales series, RPGs, or the hype, it is prominent.

If you skim the critique, you will be misled into believing that the game is poor because the negative tone and phrases will stick out and take precedence over any feelings or anticipation you had. Only upon closer inspection will you discover that there is clearly nothing wrong with the game. Then why does this game earn the given score that is on par with vaporware?

Can you claim and prove that this article is not biased at all?

It got a 7.9 on Gametrailers. I trust them far more than IGN.

Welcome to the world of next-gen RPG hate by reviewers. Your fellow club members 'Tales of Vesperia', 'Blue Dragon' and 'Lost Odyssey' are already in the club. I am sure you will feel welcome!

Except for Symphonia, Vesperia, and Eternia. All had 83%+ scores.

And I agree, all the Tales games I've played have been great. Some better than others though, which the scores show. Given time, ToS2 may get a decently better score - it seems to be tracking around Legendia, which I own and think is a good game.

RPGs are always in the eye of the beholder - it's very easy to have a 'good' RPG that many fans can enjoy - even if reviewers don't like. There are very few, and I mean very few, RPGs I've played over the past 17 years that I didn't like.
