i don't really get it. the chart shows the ps3 sales increasing and the 360 sales decreasing. 360 recently got a price cut so it's obvious that it would see a lot of sales around this time.

i do agree that a price cut would be nice, but i think they can recover with good releases. hopefully gt5 will come out soon... i would have gotten prologue if i had known it was going to take them this long!

From Sony's perspective the price of the PS3 along with all games and accessories has already dropped in Europe (the same goes for Nintendo with the Wii). The Euro has fallen 23% against the Yen in a few months, that's a huge drop. I don't think they can afford a price drop on top of that.

Sony already has enough on their plate; these currency problems, lower consumer confidence which will hit their most expensive items (big HDTVs, perhaps Blu-Ray, etc) and falling profits. Doing a price cut now would be tempting fate.

i'm quite embarressed because for the whole of october, i had assumed that the ps3 outsold the 360 in others, thinking the price drop didn't do much to help. now this comes along and BAM! all my theories out the window. this was quite a hefty adjustment.

Oh and people need to stop bashing darth: he can state his opinion. Besides it's absolutely ridiculous to call him anti-Sony.

Sadly for some people being realistic means anti-Sony. Get a life.

OT: This is PS3's 3rd Xmas and 360's 4th. If PS3 loses this holiday season I don't see them catching the 360 ever.
