From Sony's perspective the price of the PS3 along with all games and accessories has already dropped in Europe (the same goes for Nintendo with the Wii). The Euro has fallen 23% against the Yen in a few months, that's a huge drop. I don't think they can afford a price drop on top of that.
Sony already has enough on their plate; these currency problems, lower consumer confidence which will hit their most expensive items (big HDTVs, perhaps Blu-Ray, etc) and falling profits. Doing a price cut now would be tempting fate.
