No this is not a stab at any game or system. Lately there has been alot of threads talking about this game owns that game and so on. ( Yes even from me. Hell my sig is doing exactly that.) But really there isnt that much difference either way.

Just really wanted to show and say to people that Some will think KZ2 is top dog and others like me feel Gears 2 edges it.

To be honest they are so close it's not really worth it. People can watch KZ2 in actin and be amazed. It's awesome. But then you can watch Gears 2 in action and be equally amazed. These 2 videos both show ingame. Both games do not use any CGI.  Personally  Gears 2  edges for me  (it's only opinion)  The cutscenes in Gears 2  just look  more detailed. 

But they are so close that really there is no definitive answer.

A) Your using a youtube video to compare two games that run at 720p. There is no way for the normal person to discern differences with that shitty of quality.

B) I have played both Gears 1 and Killzone 2 (at a trade event), and can easily tell you Killzone 2 has the leg up in graphics. Why? In motion there are an insane amount of effects that will overwhelm your senses.

C) You posted a Gametrailers video, youtube-ized it, than used it as a comparison video. You took compressed garbage, urinated on it, and served it as a main course. Credibility lost.

D) When you get the game in your hands, and are able to discern the lighting, the real time Anti Aliasing, the insane detail not only in textures (and this game is a FPS not a TPS where you are fixed away from them) but in the guns, characters, and environments, you'll truly realize this game is a technical leap ahead.


I don't understand you Xbox 360 fans. You've had it good for TWO years. There are only a handful of games that cannot be done on the 360, (Uncharted being one), but when a developer truly taps the power of PS3, you come out with - "Oh Killzone 2 looks good, but not that much better."

I've seen both in action on High quality Video. It's like night and day. Killzone clearly wins

I played Gears 1 and not KZ1.

and I have to ask, Why are your team-mates in Gears 2 rush into enemy cover senselessly? Is it something you can command them like Rainbow 6?


Yeah, I haven't been following GoW2 coverage much.

And BTW Gears 2 IS The finished Product. Killzone 2 still has 3 MONTHS + Polishing Time. Yet Killzone 2 STILL Looks better

people are gonna choose regardless....whether its their honest opinion or the ps3 owner will like killzone 2 more and vice versa....
just watch how this thread goes...

A. Sorry but Heavy Rain beats both of them

B. Then comes in alan Wake

C. Killzone 2 still edges it out imo

D. GEOW 2 still looks great

@Darth Killzone 2 Looks better than Alan Wake. Plus what have we seen from Alan Wake? Cutscene? Alan Wake is also on PC no?

Use a larger format, then perhaps we can compare (I still want it on a TV)
Also, Uncharted looks better, it has some colour!!!!
