Finally, a Game dev in progress, just like me, and with basically similar opinions about what Microsoft is doing to the gaming industry... I'm still sick of hearing corps saying that they prefer to do their site in ASP.NET because they have a really huge deal with Microsoft and their devs only know .NET, when it has been proven hundreds of times that PHP is more solid, stable and flexible, if they really believe that ASP.NET is better then that's okay, but doing it for their deal and lazy devs (that should know by now that PHP base learning curve is not that hard) is just wrong...

Now 3rd party publishers are doing the exact same thing, devs have proven to us that the PS3 has real potential, but the "new multiplatformers" are doing something worse than going multi, they're doing the PS3 version inferior, and it could be lazyness or new loyalty to the nice people with money, either way they're screwing up this gen...

 

 

Microsoft is just showing Sony fanboys the truth of what Sony has been doing. The electronics corporations are taking taking over the gaming industry. Sony started it, Microsoft is bringing it this gen. Get over it. Microsoft isn't doing anything that Sony hasn't done. To state otherwise is hypocrisy.

I'm sorry to say this but microsoft has played well and to be their 2nd gen console they have done well. but PS >>>>>>MS. not too soon but later PS will start to outsell the 360 and 360 will die earlier than PS3 giving a great fight and leaving an excellent legacy to the 720.

GT 5 and Kill Zone 2 have both taken 5 years to develop and there development budgets are expected to be close to 70 million dollars for each game. Porting them to XBox 360 and make some more money would be a great idea.

To make a return on investment KZ2 and GT 5 would have to sell a minimum of 5 million copies each.

Porting Kill Zone 2 and GT 5 to XBox 360 would be a great move and make lots of money for the game developers. Profit is the most important thing at the end of the day. The costs of game development are reaching astronomical levels in the modern era. Exclusives games will become a thing of the past.

 

KZ2 and GT5 are owned by Sony so no port.

uuummm...no. Heavy Rain so far is not announced as a franchise so you have no idea what Sony will do as Crash Bandicoot, FROM PS1 DAYS, proves absolutely nothing. Heavy Rain is a signed contract exclusive and as of now hasn't been planned to become a franchise like Crash Bandicoot became. Plus, how in the bejezus do you know what it will sell? Before you respond to me with mindless assumptions just know that Sony didn't publish that for nothin man. I study the happenings of that game inside out. Check out Quantic Dream's site (www.quanticdream.com). There's plenty of info on what took place. Beyond that, as others have said, Sony is focusing now on their own stuff. Quantic Dream is working exclusively with Sony this gen so plenty for PS fans, even gamers in general, to look forward too. Plus Quantic Dream stated even before Heavy Rain was published that Sony was the only company that saw their “vision of what next gen gaming should be”. Heavy Rain will truly show what the PS3 is capable of and I think we gamers have something ground breaking to look forward to!!! Also you have no clue as to what PS3s install base will be come Holiday 2009 so keep your assumptions at bay please.

P.S. - For the record there is only one other game that I am dying for - almost as much as I am for Heavy Rain: ALAN WAKE!!! If anyone recieves or has any info on that title please let me know. -thanx-

 

 

If you cannot comprehend i'm just showing you how Sony let go of a bigger franchise than Heavy Rain will ever hope to be and they published Crash. This is only wisdom about the past, not exactly to piss you off man.

all becuz MS shells out a few bills to these developers. Sony gives them the chance to make an extraordinary game with their bluray and cell technology, yet MS keeps holding them back by stealing them away. This is obviously MS's plan. They keep buying off Sony exclusives to hinder the PS3 from ever reaching full potential. THis must have been the reason MS closed down all those 1st party studios, so they can shell out more cash for Sony exclusives. Every gen Sony tries to step up the bar on how their system can improve gaming. MS's whole goal is just how can they screw up Sony's plan.
Why?
Because MS has feared the inevitable ascension of Sony. Years ago Sony set out to create the ultimate entertainment hub. The PS3 is basically that dream coming to fruition, this is why MS is pulling no punches whatsoever. They will do what ever they can in their power to keep Sony from succeeding this gen becuz they fear Sony's onslaught on the PC market. To copyrighting of features in their system that are just retarded, to having random companies suing them left and right to keep them in financial troubles, to sacrificing the quality of their own product to simply get to market first.

THese companies are the worst though. SE has been the biggest let down, then Namco. These are companies with the LARGEST fanbase on Playstation and they simply abandon them for a little bit of pocket money from MS. SE has made said they wanted to be even this gen but that was a joke. SE has given MS SO4(a PS favorite) exclusive, Infinite Undiscover exclusive(even though it was mediocre), and FFXIII( a game that was the most important to Sony's ascension) as MP. Only thing PS fans get from Square is FFvXIII exclusive and the notion that we should be grateful for that. Fuck THEM! Namco gave away Katamari to 360 EXCLUSIVE and it BOMBED!!!! MS already has an exclusive fighter known as DOA which doesn't hold a candle to Tekken, and MS STILL gets Tekken. Have these companies no shame? Yes, these companies are out to make a profit but at what cost? The fanbase that made them what they are? The company that helped them make it in the first place? The quality of the game? The PS3 and 360 are only 5 million apart in sales, that is not enough to justify the spin of the market in present. The only answer is the good ol MS bank.

I'm wondering what will happen if he has to make a game on the 360 when he has finished his Game Developer study and gets a job in a game company..

you know how easy it is to make a game look worse then the same game on another console ?Eurogamer claims many games that are widely accepted as looking better on the ps3, look better on the 360. Even though all reviewers disagree with them

You're spending too much time on the forums. It must be invading the time you could be spending fixing your sarcasm meter. I'm well aware that a first party published title isn't going to go multiplatform. I was joking with you because MGS4 was your flawless argument 24 hours ago when you took it upon yourself to tell me I was trolling for saying there was a good shot that Tekken 6 would come to the 360, which I backed up with evidence. No matter how much I provided though, you just came back with "But MGS4! But MGS4!".

This is bigger than just that... I'm talking about game development here more than anything, and i'm bringing my opinion as a systems analyst and software designer & developer (and future game dev)...

As an old gamer (Since 2600 and counting) i could say simply "Hey, it's still on my console of choice" (BTW that would be PS3, Wii, DS and PSP), but this is beyond that for me...

MGS4 is PS3's soul, is the spiritual side of PS3. some people say the soul is the only thing that separate us from animals. blu-ray probably would be it's genitals, is what is keeping it from extinction.
