Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Putting tired complaints to rest: Nintendo and the core gamer.

I have to say SSJ2, you did a HORRIBLE job of trying to break that list apart. I don't feel like explaining all the reasons why to you right now, but I'd say the fact that you listed Pokemon not only as casual but as an adventure speaks for itself though. The rest of it is unbelievably bad too. Kirby is casual? Am I the only one here who's been playing Kirby games since the early 90s? I figure most things that old are core...

The speed of core game development for the Wii is unprecedented by Nintendo, and yet, somehow, Nintendo is attacked by their supposed "fans" for not meeting their expectations. What do you expect them to do? Crap gold bars and ship them to you?

Honestly, it seems like alot of people WERE expecting gold bars.

I think most of these supposed "nintendo fans" are really just dumb sony fans tryin to start stuff. Either that, or they're idiots for not liking the Wii lineup. As far as Nintendo is concerned, these fanboys can go suck an egg, because right now Nintendo is making more money than they EVER HAVE.

Here's your list of Wii games revised to actual core games:

Core Games- 13 games that are actually known to be coming to the US.

Animal Crossing Wii- Where is it?
Battalion Wars 2
Disaster: Day of Crisis- Maybe coming out next year?
Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast
Excite Truck
Eyeshield 21- not announced for US and might never come here

Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn
Golden Sun Wii- where is it?
Kriby Wii- where is it?
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Mario & Sonic at the Olympics
Mario Kart Wii
Mario Strikers Charged
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption
Pikmin Wii- where is it?
Pokemon Battle Revolution
Project H.A.M.M.E.R. (May be canceled, but nothing official)
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Swing Golf
Trauma Center: Second Opinion- not a Nintendo game, Atlus 3rd party game.

Casual Games- 7 Games

Endless Ocean

Mario Party 8

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Wii Play

Wii Sports

Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree

Wii Fit

That's a majority of core games (13-7), but that's because of old established franchises that are getting sequels or so we expect. The new casual games aren't going to be known that much before they come out because they will be announced unexpectedly.

Oh man what a logical explanation. Nintendo makes more money than me thus I am an idiot and they are correct.

Another one of these threads to prove that Nintendo isn't abandoning the core gamer.

If it isn't why are there all these threads trying to convince people...

Also you included Warioware, Mario Party AND Endless Blue in core games?

Come now ckmlb.  Posts like this have to be made because of senseless fanboys, which you know run rampant.  You yourself constantly complain about this obvious non-issue.  I also said that many games appeal to both groups; siting Mario Party and WarioWare specifically.

I gotta tell you guys, I was a bit worried there were gonna be some holes in this, but after seeing the 2 weak attempts to attack it I'm pretty satisfied with my effort.  Thanks for all the support people. :)  I'm glad to see there are a lot of people who can read and appreciate logic, and another advantage is stuff like this really does seperate the fans from fanboys.

 QFFT (Quoted For Fucking Truth).

That was a terrible attempt SSJ.

I do agree that Mario Party, Forever Blue and Wario Ware should be casual though, but that hardly makes much of a difference.

All this talk and people don't understand what many Nintendo fans became Nintendo fans for in the past anyway... why do game have to be complex and difficult to be core games?

Mario on NES is one of the most simple games to play ever made, yet it still has massive appeal to people even today... it's about the accessability and Nintendo are just trying to increase the accessability.

And Naznatips, you think this place is bad... go check out the break downs at NEOGAF.

I really wonder if Sony or Microsoft's viral marketing is a major driving force behind this current web 'perception' of Nintendo.

Also putting stock into quotes as a proof that Nintendo is not shifting gear is hardly evidence.

You think Nintendo would come out and say: no other Mario game till Wii 2?

That would be because the threads you speak of were actually started by people saying that Nintendo has abandoned the core gamer. You should know, you posted in them.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

I was talking about threads such as this one and the one by Rolstoppable.

If this is a non issue naz, then why do you feel it necessary to prove that Nintendo isn't abandoning core games?
