Forums - Sales Discussion - Anyone else noticing a lot of Wiis easily available in stores?

Maybe it's just in my local area (Eastern Canada) but I've gone into Wal-Mart twice in the last two weeks and was surprised to find Wiis easily available.  The display case they're in was packed full (it holds about 8-10 of them.  The first time I saw it I assumed that they must have just gotten in a new shipment and most people weren't aware they were there but that's apparently not the case.

It's very surprising since they were near impossible to get leading up to the last two weeks especially in Canada which is very pro-Nintendo.  Anyone else seeing the same thing in their area?

If it wasnt for MGS4, the PS3 is unnecessary

Nope.

I have yet to see a Wii on shelf. And every time I ask about them, I get that annoyed employee speak, so I must not be the only one asking.

Last time I was at a store that carries games was Best Buy on Father's Day, and I didn't see any then.  Oh, and I'm in the Chicago area.

In Toronto, I haven't seen any Wiis in major retailers such as Wal-Mart, Zellers but I've seen a crap load of Wiis at a place called Pacific Mall. There modified japanese Wiis that cost between 350 to 410 dollars Canadian. Also you can get your 360 modified for 150.

None that I have seen in Calgary yet but I'm told if you're willing to line-up on Saturday/Sunday you will get one from a local retailer

I've seen bundles on the shelf in my Local GAME store, but no single units.

I'm from West London.

"..just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake"

I'm in eastern Ontario and have noticed that the Wii is consistantly available in most stores (stores from EB to Rogers Video).
