lol then why does the 360 still have star ocean and infite discovery?

Infinite Undiscovery was announced as a 360 exclusive before Square Enix was announced as the publisher.

Is'nt the game announced before the publisher? So theres no doubt microsoft has done some business with them. As for star Ocean Microsoft paid for it without a doubt.

and making a wii port would be cheap

Doubt that, they can (most likely) reuse almost all models, textures, artwork for the 360 because PS3 and 360 are roughly in the same power category. They would have to completely redesign everything for the Wii though because simply downsampling everything will look like hell. It would be like making a completely new game. (And yes this is cheaper for the Wii than for the PS3 or 360 but I am willing to bet that a port to 360 is cheaper than a port to Wii)

First, you are comparing two different architectures. The PS3 is cell based while the Xbox 360 is a powerpc based architecture. Therefore no one can say how close in power the Xbox 360 and the PS3 really are. However the Xbox 360 and the Wii have the same architecture, both are based on the power pc and feature ATI gpus. This would seem to make porting games from the Xbox 360 and the Wii easier. But then the Unreal 3 engine has to be factored in and that seems to be where the difficulty is.

Long posts make bored. I'm gone.

Bolded, the GPU in the Wii is downright primitive when comparing the architectural differences between it and the Xenos. The saving grace here is the fact that porting between different GPUs isn't nearly as difficult as dealing with differences between individual CPU arcihtectures (excluding X86 of course)

Tease.

I'm guessing you misread that. The Square rep is saying that they're neutral to all publishers and manufacturers, not that they're still in denial about Wii raping both HD consoles at the same time. At least that's what I think.

I was talking about the author of the article, not the Square rep.  The wording of the sentence is ambiguous, though - either one of us could be correct.

Super World Cup Fighter II: Championship 2010 Edition

Selling out is not being "neutral".......if they were really neutral they would make a FF13 for 360 thats different from PS3 version (like they did for PSP/DS)..... deuche bag

To be honest the more 'excuses' they come up with the more I lose respect for them. I understand their reasoning (more money in the end) but with SO4 still 360 exclusive as far as we know and hardly any games on Wii, I really wonder what's going on.

I mean I'll quote from the above.

"We always consider the territory and hardware for titles"

How can he say this and have SO4 on the weakest of all 3 consoles in one of the biggest markets for this game? (Japan) (M$ cash no doubt, just wish they'd admit it).

Hmm, pie.

Its sad ,from all the companies of the world I thought SE one of the most unlikely to sell themselves like that only for some easy money.

"We're now in the age of multiplatform...but SO:TLO, IU, and Versus are still exclusive games."

1. No, just no. The audience of the Wii is not the same as the audience of HD consoles. They will also have to add wiimote features. For the Wii they have other plans, exclusive games especially for Wii. In the end there are going to be more SE games on Wii than on both HD consoles.

2. How do you know if SO4 is exclusive to the 360? So far I know it´s been announced "for 360" not "exclusive to 360". FFXIII was also exclusive to PS3 and look what happened.

3. FFXIII will be released in Japan on ps3 first. After that they will have to translate the game in english, german, italian, spanish and french. At the same time they will be working on "porting" the game on 360. So by the time the translation and voice-overs are over, FFXIII will be already running on 360.

1. yes, just yes. There are alot of people with a wii that would buy ff13, in fact the 6 first series was on a nintendo console. The wii audience is much better suited for ff than the 360 audience if we were to take a look at lost odyssey and blue dragon sales. They dont have to add anything and making a wii port would be cheap.  THey should release more games on the wii as its cheaper and the wii has a higher user base. If they want more consumers go with the wii. But pc would be the best

2. As for now they stated that they have no plans for a ps3 version of the game.

3. Yes it will release in japan first and thats probably due to the fact that sony owns 8-9% of the company. There will be delay due to the 360 version regardless of what people might say. When they finished the ff13 jap. version they will begin the english + other versions, but they have to re-do the lip sync or else it would look bad. And then they would have to fit that into the 360 port and  then they'll begin the compressing of audio and such. And that i think would lead to a delay.

1. Then just bring FFXIII on DS, PC and even PSP and Iphone  to raise margin profit. Then you´ll be moaning how SE follows EA tactics and such. Typical. Lost Odyssey sold well worldwide for a jRPG on an american console with no background in jRPGs. There´s not even a single jRPG on the Wii that sold as much or more than LO.

3.  I don´t think it has anything to do with Sony, rather that with the jap. release they will cash in quickly and partially fund translation and all the rest fot the worldwide release. Lip-synching will be done more likely on the prototype (on PC) and afterwards be compiled for PS3 and X360 along with the translation. Most likely then won´t have found the appropriate compression tools last minute, so disc production won´t be delayed at all. The whole porting to 360 will be happening at the same time as the translation, so if there´s any delay it would be if they encounter any unprecended difficulties with. It could also be a translation delay, as RPGs have very long scripts with more than simple meanings.

SO4 will be coming to the ps3. The only question is when.

On an off topic but kinda on topic thing, who else feels that since the start of 2008 all that has happened in the game industry is companies stabbing each other in the back mainly over things to do with Microsoft and to a lesser extent Sony?

This is how they do business.  If capitalism really worked and the guy who won was always the guy with the better product, Microsoft would have died long ago.
