Who can say. With FFXIII going multiplat, and 360 getting exclusives from Square-Enix, nothing is certain. I think Japanese companies are looking to the western market, and the 360 is the software seller over here in their eyes. It's all about making money.

I do think that by Xmas 09, the 360 will definitely be the RPG king, as I think it will keep that title for the entire generation.

As far as JRPG king, that's up in the air, and speculating about how things will stand in a year is only that, speculation.

Second you left out Cry on, LO2 and BD2 which is looking like 09.

Dude by end of 2008 the 360 will have: LO,BD,ES,TLR,IU,TOV as JRPG's.

by end 09 we currently have pending: Cry On, SO4, LO2, BD2 and FF13. And thats before M$ have even bothered to push through 09 coming releases heavily. So I expect maybe 3 or 4 more in 09 for 360.

WRPG's already by end 2008 are oblivion, Fable 2, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Two Worlds and Too Human. The 360 is definately the place to be for JRPG's and Rpg's in genral.

SO4 is not even scheduled anywhere for PS3 IMO noone knows when TLR will show up on PS3 either. Based on ES evidence it could be 2010 before they arrive in the west for PS3. And Tears of Tiara has done nothing in Japan at all. 50,000 first week sales and 11,000 PS3 units sold. PS3 is in trouble with JRPG's.

It's just pure speculation. You're saying stuff like, "Maybe a Dark Cloud game." You're assuming WKC will be worth a crap, while, as a pretty hardcore JRPG fan myself, I don't think it looks exciting in the least. If it were a multiplat or - heaven forbid - a 360 exclusive, I think most people who are so jazzed about it would call it yet another LOLJRPG. I hope I'm wrong, of course, and it's a killer game- but I'm just not seeing it right now.

Most importantly, you're assuming that the 360 won't get any more JRPG support from here on out. We don't know what's in the works, so we'll have to wait and see. Just like everybody else, I was of the opinion (based entirely on assumption) that the PS3 would blow the 360 away in this genre, but that just hasn't happened yet.

You will be excited once you see the game at TGS in October.  The game looks great and is being made by a well-respected RPG developer.  I still can't blame you for not being excited though as the so called lauded animation wasn't that impressive and the battles looked repetitive but that was only because the game was very early in development at the time.

Oh I see what you did there, you took 3 JRPG's which at the start of the year were thought to be PS3 exclusives and just slapped on "best of generation" onto them.

FF13 VS is not a main series FF title, it's quality is not guaranteed. In fact, did you notice that most FF spin-off's turn out to be crap or average?
The only reason I remain positive about this title is that Nomura's KH team is working on it.

WKS, haha, this is a joke right? You're talking about a game that has no franchise behind it's name to indicate quality and the only indicator is it's done by Level-5. If S-E can make Dirge of Cerberus, I can certainly believe a company like Level-5 can faulter.

FF13 is no longer an exclusive, so there's nothing to say about that.

On topic: I think we know the SDF is on it's last legs when it has to pull speculation (as opposed to misrepresenting facts) in order to have something positive to say about the PS3.

360 will be the lead home console for JRPG's for at least another year, after that we can only guess.

But right now...

If PS3 is king, then 360 is god.

DQ is on DS and KH platform is yet to be decided. SO series sold 2.8 million yes just 2.8 million on PS and PS2 thats shows how big a series SO really is. Expect FFXIII in Japan sell this amount in couple of weeks. WKC is a proper JRPG after FF so expect it to sell better then all 360 JRPGs combined.
