You were joking, right? The PS3 has a very ugly design. It looks like 1982.

I think the PS3 is outselling the 360 this year primarily due to Microsoft missteps and the weakness of games on the 360 so far this year.

The Ps3 is extremely slick and shiney. Slick and shiney is hot right now.

 

 

Yes, it has a piano black finish. But it's huge and ugly and really fat. Technology is supposed to be small and sexy, but huge, fat and ugly like the PS3 is. The problem is that Sony engineering couldn't make it small and sexy. They weren't capable of it. That's literally the truth why it is huge and ugly -- no one in their right mind would have said, "hey, we can make this thing small and sexy but let's make it huge and ugly."

It's more unattractive than the 360.

It's pretty funny someone complaining about PS3 tech vs 360 given 360 had a major design flaw and they left the damn power external as the largest, ugliest, hottest powerbrick I've ever seen!

Heck even the cute little Wii couldn't manage to tuck its power inside and has a little power brick as well.

Just having no powerbrick (never mind the overall build quality) sure makes the PS3 for me the best item of electronics of the three.

 

 

yes the PS3 does have th ebest hardware design!

its a shame that doesn't win Sony any points in the software department!

as far as I see it, my PS3 looks good sitting under my TV, but its hardly ever swtiched these days.

and looking at the future line up, outside of Singstar 2 later on next month, there won't be much PS3 gaming until

next year when Resistance two comes out....so until then, it will be Xbox Live all the way until Christmas for me.

thats easy to answer!.

Bluray!...it has a bluray drive inside which means you can play movies on it.

but what this has got to do with gaming is beyond me. the 360 is by far the much better and solid games console. even as we speak the PS3 sells half the amount of software that the 360 does.
after Metal Gear Solid 4, some strange things has been happening to the PS3 numbers. hardware and software sales have been in decline.
and what is there to look forward too on the PS3 this year?. nothing!

 

the fact that you'll be able to buy a 360 console for $199, and play Gears of War 1 & 2, Halo 3, Final Fantasy 13, Bioshock 1 & 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4 and GTA4....thats simply for a gamer the greatest deal on earth!.

because a PS3 will cost you twice as much to buy, and half of those games you won't be able to play on a PS3.

and we aren't even taking about the four JRPGs that Square Enix are making just for the 360!
... which are already starting to light up Japan from last weeks figures.

Not to turn this into a games argument, but I'd hardly call Too Human/ Fable 2/ and Gears 2 the heaviest of hitters. I mean, they'll all do well, well, Fable 2 and Gears 2 will do well, but they're nothing like GTA IV or something that big. That is a heavy hitter.

Also, the PS3 will have Killzone2, Resistance 2, and LBP in that time period too. All those are big games.

 

whats the difference? even when the PS3 hardware sales were high, the software sales were still far lacking at half of what the 360 and Wii were doing!.

the PS3 was born in 3rd place, and its never going to find a way out of there by itself. Sony kept dropping the prices, but you only end up with more and more frustrated gamers with a great piece of hardware lacking triple A software!

your too right.....I'm a consumer, I pay for this. so I expect to get a great service. we don't get this for free! (unless gamers are getting it for free then I can clearly understand)

It IS playstation.
In Finland some older customers:Pleikkari,Pleiskari,Pleikka = Playstation
When it come to Nintendo no1 know Ds or Wii.
Never heard about Xbox.
And 2 of 2!That should tell you about Playstatin brand power.

I think you could also argue that the 360 is a non-factor, or nearly so, outside of the UK but in Europe.  If it wasn't for the UK, the 360's "others" numbers would be a complete disaster every week.

I think and hope that very few indeed were put off by the PS3 outperforming the 360 this year, even if based solely on past performance (last gen for the slow one's).

PS3 is doing better then last year, i think everyone knew they will slowly be gaining some market. But the facts are 360 is still doing great, and PS3 still has massive gap to close. And that is not the scenario that people were prepared for some time ago, at the moment PS3 needs to improve.
