Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.

IT are all about copying so it really doesn't matter as long as their device is good.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Good things also get copied by better companies who later improve them.  Sometimes the improvement is just as important as the invention... or don't you like color TV?

I'll love it if Nintendo ever adds shoulder buttons to a portable system. Then we can say that Nintendo copied Sony on portable gaming systems! I mean, let's really get down to specifics. Nevermind that shoulder buttons were around long before and they just happened to move to portable systems.

Same thing with touchscreens. Nintendo used it a pure gaming system first. Ok. As others have said, PDAs and phones have them before. Let's move on...

There have been shoulder buttons on a portable system since the GBA. lol?

Oh wow haha.

@PS-She: Being unoriginal =/= being good.

I agree.  However it's only unoriginal if you refuse to look at the improvements.  Kind of like the 2nd joystick on the PS2's controller.   Maybe it wasn't quite as original as the original joystick invention in 1944 or the Odyssey's first use of them in 1967, but it was an innovative use that added quite a bit to the way games were played.

I hope this is more in response to the touch screen fad in phones rather than the DS.

You don't like the DS's touch screen?

Pretty interesting off-topic conversation you had there.
First: The disc media in GC is physically DVD (as windbane said) and is customized by Matsushita. The customisation is, that the disc is read outside-in, while the disc rotates in standard direction. The reason for this is faster startup time (actually PSX did read its discs too in the same direction, but the disc rotated in non-standard direction) and games harder to pirate.
Second, NES had a disc drive too, but not optical and disc drives were used a long time before it.

And how Nintendo fucked Sony up in the first place was, that Nintendo and Sony had a contract about a SNES, that could play SNES games and disc based games. The contract granted Sony 25% of all the consoles and its softwares profits (which apparently wasn't clear for Nintendo, since Yamauchi got really mad about the contract) and Yamauchi signed out from the contract when he found out about the profit split and teamed up with Philips. Sony continued the developement, and came up with Play Station, which could play SNES and disc games. Nintendo tried to prevent the launch of the console, but based on the contract made in 80's, court gave a permission for Sony to launch the Play Station.
If i'm not mistaken, Play Station was sold a couple of units before Sony pulled it out from the market to team up (again) with Nintendo for SNES CD-ROM.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Maybe it isn't for a game device and I am jumping to insane conclusions.

But they shouldn't use a touchscreen at all, considering we have the iPhone and DS.

You do realize that the iphone and DS were not the first devices with touchscreen right?
