Million said: Your annoying me now , I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH MICROSOFT IS PROFITING OVERALL I'VE SAID IT TWICE ALREADy , I promised myself i'd stop swearing but your pushing me. Congratz to billgates for copying the crap out of everyone else to make billions of dollars he will most probably never spend before he dies , if generating billions in profit is what you call "dust" then i'd like a bit of dust too. I don't give a damn about the businesses oveall profitability I was merely focousing on the gaming aspect. LOL have you seen MGS4's sales in Japan ? I think this will serve as a message to developers who are thinking about departing from Sony + most of Microsoft's RPGS are only timed exclusives , they'll come to the PS3 eventually and still outsell the 360 versions in Japan. Sony has the largest development resources of the three and have the resources to support the PS3 in japan more heavily if they desire , the PS3 has far more potential than the 360 in Japan. The PS3 will definetley boost HD TV sales and adoption ( this will benefit other companies but i'm sure Sony will also benefit greatly ) the PS3 won the format war for Sony which could potential bring billions more in royalties , We don't even know wether the 360 is profitable or not for sure , RROD , Promotions&Marketing , Buying exclusivity don't come for free ,microsoft probably attributed the cost's to other divisions to make the 360 apear profitable. The PS3 isn't really loosing support it's getting shared between the PS3 and 360 as opposed to being soley for the playstation brand and like I said before Sony has the largest development resources out the 3 companies so it's not a console killer , try and find me any 360 games that will match GT5 , God Of War 3 , Final Fantasy next year. |
Yeah, reality tends to annoy rampaging fanboys. MGS4 sold great? that's supposed to save the ps3? just as smash bros melee saved the gamecube? Also, I like how you take as a given that the barrage of X360 jrpgs are coming to the ps3 when there's nothing pointing to it - afterall, the ps3 is still waiting for its port of Eternal Sonata. You might also check on what sony developing resources are, they just cancelled the getaway and 8 days, nevermind losing the F1 license. As for whatever remains of their studios and the games they moneyhat, they are busy cranking the next lair, hs or haze.
Oh and we are pretty sure that the X360 is driving up profitability on the division - that's what they state on their financial reports and you get federal charges and prison punishment for lying on them. Nevermind that MS historically is *extremely* rigorous on their reportings because of the heavy scrutiny it's constantly under by the authorities. You shouldn't however get facts to disrupt your fanboy logic, please keep rolling with it while sony bleeds all money the psp and the ps2 have earned in years to keep the ps3 afloat.
But the ps3 *is* losing support. No one gives a shit about what the cell is supposed to be able to do (*only in sony pr, anyways) since not releasing on the 360 is too big of a risk. Ditto for creating games that don't fit on a dvd. Devs like Tri-Ace, Namco or Square-Enix (who will have released at least three games on the 360 and none on the ps3 by the end of the year) are giving the 360 the royal treatment while they ignore the ps3. Hell, even Atlus is releasing its niche strategy-jrpgs (the only one they haven't put on the 360 yet is disgaea) on the 360 and not the ps3.
To be honest I don't know what's releasing on the 360 next year. And I don't because MS doesn't need to pimp its lineup years before the game release since there's a constant stream of quality stuff. Sony, on the other hand...
By the way, the revenue from blue-ray royalties (nevermind they gave up a good chunk of it in order to get the studios support) will still be a small drop compared to what windows brings over to MS.
