Ryan, one of the staff members here, was able to get a few details about God of War 3.

Graphics:

The graphics will be insane! it will feel like the game is real or well really happening.

The graphics will go well with the gameplay, the grapics wont take the attention away from the action.


Gameplay:

The gameplay will be like no other God of War game. I heard that it will have a new fighting system. Ive also heard of a free roam option in a few places but its not confirmed, in other words if they run out of money, no free roam.

Story Mode/Campain:

It will have a new storyline,  whole new missions. Might have about 5 or 6 parts (depends on the storyline) and each part will have 5 acts (like Gears of War 2)

They might allow you to play as multiple main characters.

Unlike the other God of War games the final boss/bosses will be way harder if the storyline is easy.

Online:

They might allow you to cuztomize your chracter and create custom weapons.

They might have the basic team deathmatch and other game modes.


Overall:

New everything
Great Graphics
Awsome gameplay
Great Game
Great online help (Staff, administration etc.)

To me this sounds like ULTIMAT Refinement of a game that TBH had a perfect formula going for it. It has obviously gone through a process of being seived through & the FLAWS have been TAKEN OUT!

Online sounds nice.......heres hoping a MArch 09 Release.

This proves it Darth. God of War 3 is a racer.

Interesting, but I am not too sure about the online stuff. I don't get why you would want to play as anyone apart from Kratos, he is awesome

but as they may have more playable characters we may like someone else......I mean we obviously don't want a MGS2....ZOMG we need to play as a whiny Blondie scenario here.

Seriously though Darth. I think this sounds awesome, having played the first one and being currently halfway through the second.

But after the enormous show you've put on these last two days about how Banjo will suck because its expanding platforming rather than staying traditional, phrases like "this sounds like ULTIMAT Refinement of a game that TBH had a perfect formula going for it" reek of hypocrisy.

In Banjo they are CHANGING the formula (with the so-called innovations).....in GOW 3 they seem to be IMPROVING the already imo perfect formula.

OMG gow2 pushed ps2 to the edge with amazing graphics, i wonder how brilliant gow 3 on ps3 will look?

Banjo:

Platforming not involving vehicles becomes platforming involving vehicles.

God of War:

New fighting system 

Customization of a character that was previously defined by the story

Possible use of more than one character (can anyone say Halo 2?) 

How you can consider the former changing the formula and the latter not defies comprehension. 

I'm not sure I'm on board for all this new stuff :D We'll have to see how they implement ^^. I dig the multiple main characters, not sure on the weapons... some free roaming sounds ok, not sure how I feel about a combat change :P I REALLY like it in GOW.

Looking forward to this game and whatever this developer team has up their sleeve.

I still need to play God of War, God of War II, and God of War: Chains of Olympus. But I love this franchise, to bad David Jaffe left :(
