Now that's just cherry picking. Because the point of a boycott is too force them to lose so much business that they are forced to change their ways. But if you support games they make money off of, aka No More Heroes and soon Tenchu 4, your still in turn hurting your own cause.

This boycott is simply useless. Buy the games you want to play and leave it at that. Can't force a business to do what you want unless you have monumental numbers and full dedication.

Exactly

You're "boycotting", but still lining their pockets to use on PS360 games.

This is the least amount of dedication, and the worst boycott that I have ever seen implemented. It's a shame that people don't have any willpower. As soon as a "might be okay" game came out, ubisoft was cool again cause they're not developing it.

People have no morals.

He mentioned two Wii games, not 360 and PS3 games, and the point of the boycott was those as well.

And Ubisoft would only get a cut of NMH and Tenchu 4. They would much rather the HD games were bought, and if those are boycotted as well, that is where it's supposed to work. Pretending those aren't part of the intended boycott just makes you look willfully ignorant.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

BTW, anyone who buys good games from Ubisoft would not actually be part of the boycott.

LOL really? Thats not what boycott means though, if you want to boycott something it means total ban of someone's product/softwares and not buying it. Just read zucas's post to see what I mean. Just admit it, Ubi just handed it to you, you really never expect this to happen.

^ Bolded.

Actually yushire, it's not that surprising. Ubisoft has long ago published No More Heroes, so it's not surprising that they could do this with another game.

Maybe for you, but members like soriku, trestes and sc94597 theyre completely stunned, and Im quite abit surprised too because I thought its Activision will publish this game never thought its Ubi.

Um no I'm not. I'm not going to buy any low budget ubisoft games.Which is all of them.

Who said people are are actually buying crappy wii games even in Ubisoft? Boycott or not? And all of them?!!

http://vgchartz.com/games/index.php?name=&console=Wii&developer=&publisher=347&genre=&keyword=&order=Hits

See the charts? Only three games sell the most but theyre quality titles not AAA but atleast B. And about No More Heroes, No More Heroes was niche title at its best, grasshopper was happy if it will sell 100, 000 worldwide on its lifetime, but what did Ubisoft did, they published it, they advertised it in gaming sites and Ubi did the blood version.

Even in the original version theres no blood version of the game, Ubi added the blood version of the game for american audience and its Ubi's version was the definitive version. And if the blood version was the original version, Ubi didnt censored it just like in european and japanese release. Which version have the most sales its Ubi version with 200, 000 sales so far, do you think we owe Ubi that they publish this game in the first place?

And about Red Steel, yeah its crap in this today's standard but its a launch title, and for a launch title its revolutionary. Most FPS controls we've seen today like in MOH:H2 copied from Red Steel. And dont tell me its really really crap, most of the owners that buy Red Steel was actually enjoying it when they get used to on the controls. If not for Ubi the Wii will not be succesful as of it today, we can still see people buying Wii for Wii Sports if not for Ubi with Red Steel and Rayman raving Rabbids, I mean, the only people that buys Zelda at launch are Ninty fanboys anyway...

Boycotts are not pointless at all. Haribo already sent me dozens of e-mails begging that I lift the boycott because their Colorado line is making losses now.

Your boycotts are going much better than mine is. I just can't get any response out of mine. =P

Yea but it's the publisher who decides what games to make and fund. You think the Baby Partyz developer really wants to be making that? Ubisoft execs -- as a publisher -- made that decision.

Isn't it the case in many games that developers want to make a game and then have to find a publisher who will publish it? I've never heard of a Publisher forcing a certain other third party to make a game they want them to. Maybe within their own company, but I haven't heard of one company telling another company what game to make.

And yeah, can we be glad that Ubisoft publish Tenchu 4 for european and american release? You think with Ubi that they did a horrible crime. Ubisoft wasnt even that good of a developer, the only good game Ubi did was Prince of Persia, and it didnt sold well its underrated. Theres one thing we must understand was Ubisoft was theyre a publisher, not a developer.

And as for publisher, theyre good so far.

P.S. The boycott Ubi thing was actually fun last week but its getting annoying right now sorry for members here that still have that sig.

To some of us, it isn't about fun. It's about respect. If they show such disrespect for one audience, who's next?

I'm still giving them until E3, though.

Boycotts are one of the most powerful ways an collection of individuals can express their displeasure with a corporation. I believe that they're heavily under-used and that people should follow through with their promises of boycotts far more often; I could be wrong but almost all legislation that the government brings up dealing with the negative side effects of corporate actions could have easily been handled through organized boycotts.

With that said, the "Ubisoft Boycott" can not really be called a boycott because (for the most part) people are not choosing to not buy a product they were going to buy as a way of sending a message to Ubisoft; all of these games that people are refusing to buy wouldn't have been purchased by these people regardless of the actions of Ubisoft.

You have pretty much summed it up completely, none of us were going to buy imagine: babies so it really doesn't effect ubisoft too much. Althought before they made those comments I was considering buying Red Steel 2 but now I have pretty much made up my mind not to buy it because they are assholes. So I guess it has worked a little.
