thats bull crap why should you have to wait 15 mins inbetween game sessions or only play your 360 for 2 hours or so then let the damn thing cool down on my ps3 ill watch a movie play cod4 for 2 hours or so then watch another movie no problems the old 360's just have bad design or bad luck but what ever it is im sorry bro hopefully youll get a 360 that works

Be honest with nobody and lie to your self MGS4 best game EVER on ps3 :?!!!!!!!

I've had my 360 since launch (Well, 3 months after it launched to be exact) and no hardware malfunctions so far.

Although, I hate the paranoid/fear feeling I get when I just turn on the bastard, which is sad when I can leave the PS3 on overnight to Fold, have long playtimes with the Wii, and have no concern whatsoever with the hardware.

 You shouldn't, it's total luck.

I played Halo 3 co-op for 12 hours straight (that is, when I wasn't playing it was paused but still on) and my 360 lasted half a year after that, and when it did RROD, it was playing CoD4 after not playing it for 2 weeks. Here's the kicker, before that 2 week break, I had played CoD4 online every single day for at least an hour (I was/am addicted).

My bad luck was that Melbourne experienced the hottest day of the year in that 2 week break, which is what I believed fried the 360.

Anyway, I'm not accusing OP of this, but I'm starting to hate these soughts of threads, here's how it plays out:

- Person posts claiming (whether it is true or not is up for debate) their 360 got RROD for the Xth time

- PS3 fanboys post saying "this wouldn't happen if you got a PS3!" or something like that

- 360 owners reply saying "I've had my 360 since launch or for X months, never had a problem with it"

- End topic, wait a few weeks and then another one comes up, and repeat.

You'd think somebody would notice that we are running around in circles with these threads.

Anyway OP, sucks what happened to your console, now you have to decide if you're going to stick with it or sell it on the bay.

While, I think RROD is a problem that happens way to often, I think it's a problem that's heavily exaggerated on the internet. I'm sorry. I don't like to blatantly attack some one's credibility. I'm trying to believe you, but it's a little hard considering your post history. You went into a couple different threads hyping PS3 games, but haven't been in 1 360 thread, if I'm not mistaken. That seems too odd, to be just a coincidence. Maybe, you could clarify the situation if I misinterpreted it. If your claims are true, I'm sorry for you. That is an extremely bad string of luck. Maybe you need to be more careful with your systems. Good thing MS has such a good warranty. Otherwise they'd be out of the console race already.

my old box got e 74 which pretty much is the little brother to RROD. Colours on the schreen turned pink and the game froze. After reboot it got into dashboard then it froze again and next time i went up with 1 red light and e74. its fixed now tho ms did it in 18 days.

i got a elite instead now tho cause the one that red ringed was an old premium with old chip and all.

Xbox360 and Ps3 owner

I spit in your mouth at nite

When I bought my 360 four months ago (it's a falcon) I told myself I wouldn't play it for more than 5 or 6 hours at a time. I kept to that rule the first few months and the system or game inside never became hot during play, only slightly warm. When GTA4 was released I put at least three 10+ hour gaming sessions in and recently I've noticed the system and games become hot if I play only a few hours. Played GTA4 for a couple hours on Friday and the disk came out scorching hot. I hope this isn't a sign of bad things to come, and that the reason for all of this is because we're nearing summer now and temperatures where I live have been hitting the 80s lately. Good thing for that 3-year warranty.

Damn 4, that is just ridiculous. I don't know how you do it.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

Damn, you're even unluckier than me, I've had 3 RROD's in just under 1 year.
