Now i am convinced that there is possibility that PS5 reveal with spec, games, features, price via state of play. Sony has been quiet these days and on top of that not attending E3 and Coronavirus outbreak has make it even worse. 

Seeing how success Nintendo revealing Switch via Nintendo Direct , Sony will probably follow the same thing. This is just my guess. 

When is State of Play? There needs to be a formal reveal of the PlayStation 5 very soon. I honestly think SONY is a little shook by Xbox series X are waiting for more official news from MS so they can modify the PS5 specs as needed. I cannot see any other reason SONY has been so hush on PS5, unless they got something really fuckin badass and they want shoot their shot to early so MS can alter.

The Switch is a hit but I don't remember its reveal being especially "successful", there were lots of mixed responses and its games and function was not shown off in great capacity. A live demo would have avoided uncertainty about its ability to Switch.

PS4 was revealed in february of launch year. Xbox One was revealed in May. Nothing abnormal here.

They just may be using their gigantic lead and mind share to be smart about the situation. PS going first and spilling the beans would be like lowering the gloves and giving MS some free head shots for 10 rounds straight. Right now PS is carefully covering and allowing MS to swing and tire themselves out, slowly but surely.

While pretty unlikely at this point with the leaks of Lockhart, if PS has any plans to potentially counter this, they are going to want to wait. Lockhart is pretty controversial and SNY won't want to risk upsetting or confusing their customers if MS isn't going to follow through themselves.

No matter the reason, the longer PS waits the better, to a certain degree, as long as they can back it up for the most part.

That's why an official reveal can happen on state of play . They can just record video of Mark Cerny revealing PS5 hardware, demoing some tech demo, feature and then Hermen Hulst new Sony world Wide Studio came and show us the games. 

This could work, and fits with PS bypassing large events. But...

I can't help wonder if this will be more like physical games vs digital in a way though. Slowly go more digital, but don't entirely drop physical. So slowly go more direct, but don't drop all the big events. Meaning show off PS5 in person at a SNY exclusive event, but release the rest of the info throughout the year(s) digitally.

Missing some of the old big events I can live with, but the kick off to a new gen? The live atmosphere is just too good to pass that up.

As much i want a live event from PS5 reveal , i jalso thinking for the worst scenario. We really want Sony to do live event , it will have greater  impact but my other pessimist side telling me  not expect a lot of thing. 

This is more of an obvious fact than an opinion. I mean, they already pulled out of every upcoming event, so unless they are going to delay the PS5 itself, what else is there?

I am fine with this.  Less filler this way.  I just want specs and launch games.  Price would be nice, but it is already day one regardless for me unless they drop the ball elsewhere.
