Here goes my hype for Everwild if true. Another co-op/multiplayer game is not something I'd personally like to see from XGS. They already have a ton of such games.

Fellas over on ResetEra who said Series X will have a showcase event in either April or May have posted another video with more rumours, grain of salt as not even their first rumour has been proven true thus far.

- Everwild is cross-gen, co-op focused but not shared world, there's a chance it might make launch window, rumoured to have some form of 'building' in it. Everwild is more like Minecraft than Sea of Thieves.

The launch window is suspicious, it goes directly against other rumours that they've only just left pre-production into development, unless Rare decides to do another Sea of Thieves and launch the game early then update based on community feedback, I hope not.

If they execute it correctly with a solid campaign and side quests that can be co op or single player then that would be nice with Minecraft elements.

As for the release date we heard rumors that Rare was a new IP studio back in 2017 and heard that they were working on another big AAA game in 2018 so that's like 2-3 years by the end of this year. Not that hard to believe that it could make the Series X launch.

Being a MS exclusive is different to being an exclusive.
MS games will be handled no different to this gen. Dont expect to play them on rival platforms.

MS cutting off 1st party support for the XB1 in 2021 would really hurt a big percentage of Gamepass subscribers.

if MS wants to continue support beyond 2 years then they should just start buying a ton of Indie exclusives that they can add to Gamepass on both consoles, it’s not like there are many indie titles that require 12 teraflops of power to run anyways many of these games could run on the 360 today.

Yeah, that's the thing. They already have teams who could make games that aren't graphically demanding that will run on both consoles just fine. Double Fine games are not known for pushing the limits of graphics, they could easily support both XB1 and XS. Isometric RPG's like inXile makes aren't known for being graphically intensive, they can easily be cross-gen. They could always acquire more small indie tier devs as well to do that. Holding back the AAA's and AA's though is a mistake imo, and I really hope that they don't do that beyond Holiday 2021.

I just really don't believe that is going to happen.

They need show-pieces. Their first-party studios are resourced to make them. They're already used to splitting features for the Xbox One X. The technology has been shown to scale well. PC developers are already routinely inserting features in to their games that can only be taken advantage of by a select few gamers with advanced cards.

And importantly, this doesn't apply to third parties who might not have the resources to stratify features. If they move on to the next generation, thats their business.

I do think Everwild will release on the first half of 2021.
Xbox launch line up:
Halo Infinit
Gears Tactics: Console Edition
Gears 5: Edition X
Forza Motorsport 8
Smaller games
3rd party games
Whatever released on the current year will be playable day one ofcourse
A game from Xbox studios or Global Publishing every two months starting February.

I could have sworn I saw them say somewhere they're looking into implementing it one day.

Edit - https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/sea-of-thieves-will-have-private-servers-to-support-creative-community-events/

Oh I didn't know this. Before they used to say private servers won't happen. I can see them doing it for community events and such, but hopefully you can't get any gold/progress playing private servers.

Now I'm looking forward to Everwild. Minecraft-esque co-op game with those visuals sounds lovely! It's just that the trailer didn't look anything like it :P

CrossfireX could be a launch game. Remedy is making the SP so I expect a lot from that part of the game.
