Should I buy a X Box One X on Black Friday

Forums - General Discussion - Should I buy a X Box One X on Black Friday

Get the X and Gamepass. The best looking console games, and the best value in gaming as far as services go. There are loads of X Enhanced games on there and even OG Xbox titles.

If you can get an X with gold+gamepass (usually both 3 months) bundled in the sales then I would definitely go with that.

You could then buy another 3 months of Gold and once you've redeemed it all (6 months gold+3 months gamepass) you could take advantage of the Gamepass Ultimate 3 months for £1, it converts all your months of current subscriptions into Gamepass Ultimate and with the 3 months you've got a year of Gamepass Ultimate for less than £20 (or similar in your currency) and you could play Gears 5 through that.

"Wheel me out to the curb for garbage day"

If you like MS first party or play plenty of Multiplatform games sure is a good idea.

If you're set on getting an Xbox One, then the X is definitely the one I would get personally. The base console runs games pretty eh in general. That said if you're simply just collecting as your OP implies then just get the base console as you can get them really cheap right now.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a console just for the sake of collecting, but since that's your thing, then I don't see how you can skip the X. It would leave a gap in your collection.

Nope, not one X game looks better than an exclusive. Death stranding is the best looking console game, PC will make it look even better.

Nah, not at all, but I'm not really going to bother bogging down a thread by going off topic and arguing graphics with you. Especially when you have such a flawed position to begin with :)

Thanks for all your replies everyone, i ended up buying the Xbox One X after all.

Have 10 days off from work around Christmas so I thought that I might as well gift myself some 4K binge gaming :P

Resolution does not equal graphics, he was right.

1440p PS4 exclusive like TLOU 2 or Uncharted looks better than Gears 5 or Sea of Thieves in native 4K.

Nah, wait til next year and get a NEXT box or ps5 or a much cheaper X. If you don't have a ps4, Switch or PC buy it now I suppose but it is really a waste for a system that will start loosing support in 12 months. I'm sure there are developers out there that have moved on already.
