Do you want console exclusive characters for each platform?

Yes 5 45.45%

No 6 54.55%

I want mario on playstati... 0 0%

Total:11

Nope. In fact I loathe them, as they break the immersion.

But wouldn't a xenoblade character in soul calibur 6 get you excited and want more exclusive characters on switch?

Nope, not at all.

I would probably play through his story and then avoid him altogether. The only reason why I put up with Link in Soul Calibur 2 was because his throw was so broken (automatic ring out on smaller arenas since he throws so far), but I always disliked his very presence.

Why would you break the userbase between versions? Even if the characters are beloved, fans woul end up frustrated due to no version being able to have the full roster.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

It's popular to hate exclusivity nowadays, but I've always loved crossover characters when they make sense. Link in SC2 was my favorite example. I didn't feel like it broke the immersion at all. Yoda and Darth Vader made much less sense though. There was a thread recently about Mortal Kombat in Smash and Nintendo in Mortal Kombat, and I thought Ridley for MK would be awesome as a Nintendo rep, as he fits the MK universe's brutal design philosophy better than any other major Nintendo character. Breaking the userbase into two metas each with different exclusive characters is a bit more problematic, but rarely are such exclusive characters top tier, so it's usually not a big deal for the competitive scene. For the casual scene, why care? Just find a friend that has the game on the system with the character you want to try, and buy the game for the system with your favorite exclusive character.

The poll is broken, no option for "franchise cross-over itself is an abomination".

I'd like it if all three console versions had a character inspired by each of the three consoles. So for example: Link, Spartan, Kratos in Soul Calibur but it'd be the same on NS, PS4, X1

I love exclusive character fighters. (Aslong as there 1st party owned) It just makes the game feel special and unique.
I want to see more of it.

That was all I was thinking about coming into this thread lol, with Link if you just backed up to the edge of a stage and initiated his throw he would roll behind the enemy and punt them right off the stage, was hilarious for completing some challenges or finishing the game on higher difficulties.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Not really, because it makes for an incomplete roster and thus an incomplete game. That and not every system comes with exclusive fighters for every game, some get more treatment over others and I see that as being bad in of itself.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

My favourite example of all time is Link in Soul Calibur 2. I hope they bring back Link in future Soul Calibur games :D
I would only want character exclusives on each platform if there was a copy-write reason for doing so, or there was no other way to add them, for example Link & Mario wouldn't be able to star in Playstation fighting games, but they could on the Nintendo version of the game.
But Spawn (in the Xbox version of Should Calibur 2) might as well have been on all platforms because players shouldn't miss out on content if they don't buy all consoles/versions of the game. Xbox could have had Master Chief or another Xbox exclusive character.
