The race is now between 2 consoles. For year I mean.

I think sales between PS4 & NSW will remain pretty competitive for most of the year. During the holidays is when Switch will really start outpacing PS4 by a significant degree. Both will sell great.

They will definitely be competitive for the first half of the year and PS4 will likely come out a little ahead of the Switch.  For the second half of the year it will not be competitive.  Switch has an extremely strong line-up.  PS4 is not going to do badly or anything.  It's just that Switch is going to do so well that it will fly far ahead of the PS4 by comparison.

Now i see that Switch has been adjusted down to 16'3M in 2018 and 29'5M sold lifetime (by the end of the year). So now i'm completely spot on what i expected back in December for Switch. Even after adjustments were made, i knew there was needed even more, because if Switch was going to sell more than 1M in January, it was really difficult to believe Switch was at 30'8 or 30'9M by the end of the month after Nitendo saying "surpassed 30M by end of January" but i didn't want to nitpick or insist anymore because the adjustment at least was more closer now to reality, but new numbers are still apreciated by my part.

PS4 with 18'0M sold in 2018, won, by a confortable margin to Switch with 16'3M, something that most people did not expected at all 12 months ago. And now we are going to be in a similar situation again in 2019, with people expecting too much for Switch and too little for PS4. Knowing Switch sold to consumers around 13'2M in 2017 and 16'3M in 2018, i'm pretty confident Switch is going to be around 17'5M and PS4 is probably going to be around 16M, more or less (it depends if price cuts are made).

What i'm pretty sure is that we are going to hear a lot during first half of the year how hardware sales are disappointing for each console, specially in NPD reports. Doom and gloom is coming (like every 5 or 6 years....).

The switch actually has games from June to the end of the year this year. I don’t think anyone expecting more than 17.5 million is expecting too much

To be honest, i don't consider selling between 17'5-18'5M "too much", just more than i expect. I will start considering "too much" more than 19M and especially some 20M or more predictions i read somewhere.

a 50k boost to the PS4 while the X1's increase is just 6k over last week, even given the smaller figures that the X1 is dealing with 6k is just an increase of around 1/14 of last weeks figure while the PS4 gets a jump of around 1/4 the last weeks sales amount, I know this is in part to do with Resident Evil being more of a Sony franchise than it would have a home on the MS machine but the same will happen next week with KHIII another game series which was founded in Sony lands and I predict would have even less of a system selling effect next week for Microsofts machine.

The smart money knows going into a game shop that a purchase of an X1 is a system on borrowed time in comparison to the others, its support will be cut like the WiiU's or original Xbox when the follow up system arrives and that fact will loom over anyone considering buying it to play games like Resi2 or KH3 right now, the gamer who hasn't yet jumped in to the current gen machines is thrifty and wont just buy without some research on which system gives you the potential of more first party titles or just basic things like googling "where can my kiddo play fortnite for free".

Software tracking got stopped at the end of last year due to how unrepresentative it became since more and more sales are digital

PS4 number one but down considerably from last year. But with it's age not too many games are going to give it the big boosts. XB1 just bad smh and the Switch is up very nicely from last year! Starting 2019 off good and strong. And after the direct I am expecting this to be the peak year for the Switch!

There's a link for the Week of January 26th sales though but when you click on it there's nothing there but faulty HTML code.
