Great start for Kingdom Hearts III and like I thought the boost to PS4 sales is nowhere near what Monster Hunter World did last year.

YTD (LYTD)

Switch: 401,606 (273,640) + 46.8%
PS4: 204,590 (328,143) - 37.7%

Did anyone think that? My perception was that people were still predicting that Switch would outsell PS4 this week.

I have to say I didn't pay much attention to others' expectations. This is my own observations, the fourth week of 2018 and 2019 both had big releases for the PS4 so I thought it was interesting to compare the hardware behavior for both years.

Signature goes here!

with digital KH3 should be over 700K in a couple days in Japan. This game is likely to cross the 1 million mark on ps4 in japan. I suspect the game sold upwards of 4-5 million copies week 1 world wide.... record sales for sure! Let's see.

4-5 millions first week would be really surprising. I think this is more what it will do lifetime wise.

I'm expecting something around 2 millions.

PS4 the number 1 console this week with an amazing opening from Kingdom Hearts 3!

Resident Evil 2 did well for a Remake, pretty sure that most of the sales will come from the west.

Yep. PS4 on Top in Japan, which is amazing considering Japan is only about portable nowdays. In Europe also PS4 is right now ruling again, without any competition, and most probably on top in the Global since Jan 25th.

Good job Sony.

Good job Sony.

On top with 215 units ahead only, and with 2 models, which isn't really what being on top actually is.

It's on Top, and it's extremely good to be on Top in a place where portable are the only attractive hardware nowdays, mostly.

Sony is amazing this generation, and a big congrats to them.

Looking at last weeks performance many would think that. Even with the PS4 on top this week (as it should with a release like KH3), only about 200 units more is nothing to write home about. In fact, it's pitiful to say the least.

Switch 50k with no new releases and 2 big hitters on PS4? That's really good for Switch.

Welp, I guess these stats answered my question about adding a PS4 chart to my Media Create thread...

Its good to see that the PS4 can sell 3rd party games this late in the console's life in Japan. Ace Combat 7, Resident Evil 2, Kingdom Hearts 3, Dragon Quest Builders all had fantastic openings and while the hardware doesn't reflect it, its good to see the userbase still engaged.
