And did he made up that a lot of people expected or predicted that Switch would outsell PS4 in 2018?

Probably not (I was expecting that too) but everyone here knows at least how forecast works, and how it's always shipped since they can't really know precisely sold-through number.

Yes we do know. From what I remember Sony have exceeded forecast every single year of PS4 (with sales usually very close to shipment after they had regular 1-3M in channel) while Nintendo had on 3DS and WiiU overestimated on the forecast. I don't remember seeing the Switch forecast to see how they have done on the first year, but on this one seems like they were a little to high (and a lot of people here have said it on the very occasion as well).

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

So it’s safe to say that PS4 was TOP console for 2018?

Damm what an achievement!

Not yet, we'll have to wait the quartely results of Nintendo, as Switch could be undertracked.

But it will be close, that's for sure

This site has  22 Dec as 1.5mil lead over Switch, so lets wait and see. Even if Switch wins, it will be a small amount.

Rememeber guys that PS4 sold over 7 millions more in 2017 than Switch, so even if they manage to beat it this year by lets say 1 mil, still means that PS4 is increasing the lead since Switch's launch.

Erased.

Amazing numbers for the Switch. Then some people critizised me for saying its a great present for kids and family for Christmas. I mean, many adults buy it for sure, but those sells don´t need to wait for christmas most of the time. Number shows that half the people are getting it as a present for the holidays.

You realize that Black Friday, where the PS4 gets a huge amount of sales from, is a Christmas Shopping holiday right?  Also, Switch had a huge launch in March 2017, a non-typical shopping period.  By your logic, PS4 launched in November of it's release year, because it was counting on Christmas purchases, which must only be for kids according to you.  Because adults don't ever give each other Christmas presents.  Not ever.

Ps4 almost continuosly sold more than switch outside christmas sales. Sum up all december for switch and compare to the rest of the year. Also Black friday is not Christmas. You can't deny numbers. I Think more kids get presents but that doesn't mean that adults can get some. Don't put words that I didn't write.

Actually it is.  By definition, Black Friday is the start of the Christmas shopping season:  "The day after Thanksgiving has been regarded as the beginning of America's Christmas shopping season since 1952.

The day after Thanksgiving as the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season may be linked together with the idea of Santa Claus parades. Parades celebrating Thanksgiving often include an appearance by Santa at the end of the parade, with the idea that 'Santa has arrived' or 'Santa is just around the corner' because Christmas is always the next major holiday following Thanksgiving.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, many Santa or Thanksgiving Day parades were sponsored by department stores. These included the Toronto Santa Claus Parade, in Canada, sponsored by Eaton's, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade sponsored by Macy's. Department stores would use the parades to launch a big advertising push. Eventually, it just became an unwritten rule that no store would try doing Christmas advertising before the parade was over. Therefore, the day after Thanksgiving became the day when the shopping season officially started."

The vast majority of people shopping on Black Friday are shopping to save money on gifts they are going to give people for Christmas.
