November this year PS4 got 3,748. Last year was 3,619

We are talking about millions of hardware sales worldwide right??, I could have sworn PS4 did worse this nov than last one.....

For some unfathomable reason, VGC's YoY tool is giving November 5 weeks and December 4 weeks in 2018. In 2017, it was the other way around.

So what then? in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Netherlands, .... is a 50-60% growth YOY? It has to be if in Europe is so big the growth...

Just read on Era that Switch is now over 50k sold in Portugal, up from 20k at the end of 2017 so a ~50% YoY increase. So maybe these smaller countries did have bigger growth.

Real sales Numbers from One of the biggest retailer in portugal from last december:

PS4 -16122

Switch -5919

Xbox - 809

Now you can Guess the market share

We're not talking about market share though, we're talking about YoY growth.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Amazing sales.

Yes, you are right. Its only to give a more real image of the marketshare. I dont have the numbers from 12/2017, but i think only switch is up yoy.

Gotcha, thanks for the info though, it's not often we get numbers outside of the big markets.

Amazing numbers for the Switch. Then some people critizised me for saying its a great present for kids and family for Christmas. I mean, many adults buy it for sure, but those sells don´t need to wait for christmas most of the time. Number shows that half the people are getting it as a present for the holidays.

I believe my prediction from March was PS4 & NSW each doing 17-18 million and XBO around 7.5 million so looks like I will be pretty close.

From March??, very good prediction it seems then, well done. I was not making post then, but i was sure already back then that Swich was not going to do as good as most people expected (that 20M FY goal) and that PS4 was going to do a lot better too. In the end, it seems both were correct.

Does it?

We reap what we sow

I cant speak for all the small countries in Europe but in my region (nordic countries - Sony country) the Switch has a ton bigger presence in 2018 over 2017. In store, in media and what definately is a a higher social media participation everything regarding Switch. A 50%+ increase would not surprise me in the slightest.

Actual numbers would be nice to see =) Bergsala AB (Nintendo distributor in the nordic countries) isnt really sharing numbers. The last numbers I do know of is from the NES era where the nordic countries actually was impactful - roughly 9% of alla sales outside of Japan and the US came from here. Obviously not true in this era but still a nice piece of history on how Nintendo used to be a household name in the Nordics.

So it’s safe to say that PS4 was TOP console for 2018?

Damm what an achievement!
