And this may be the opportunity for LoD Remake to arise...
Plus Sony could make it into an engine for indies to make and sell their games on PS.

That's the long term plan, yes. Of course it may change for legal reasons but I know MM are on it, especially Marcos. MM also plan on making their next game with Dreams.

I would love to have the creativity power and time to make my book trilogy into games.

I've only responded to that because it's 'on the cards'. The thing is, Dreams will depend on good assets to be made available for other creators, so talk of monetisation of games or blocking people from using assets because of long term plans, would be detrimental to Dreams in the short term. Give it a couple of years and then perhaps this subject can be fully explored.

I posted a tweet to Marcos about my theory on the DLC problem. He normally responds in text but this time he just liked it. The theory was that MM would make Indie games with Dreams and sell them on PSN but if you have Dreams, many of the assets/music/logic would be made available to the community. Remember that assets are no longer outside of the potential of Dreams. Everything in Dream is made in Dreams. That means the DLC revenue MM got from LBP with things like new powers, costumes, stickers, gadgets etc, are no longer a viable solution for a sustainable revenue stream. That's because the community can replicate them perfectly within Dreams.

My guess would be:

Patches: Free
PSN games: £15 - £25 (assets made available to Dreams owners)
Imp costumes (possibly)
PSN games made by the community: In to years (Sony taking a cut)

What's your user name on Dreams? And can you search for my stuff just to check if I've set it up right? I haven't published anything of my own but I have put together a small collection of sculpts and a small collection of games. On my end it says 'your games' or 'your sculpts' and I really don't want to be taking credit for other people's work.

Things can always be copyrighted or copied. The idea that could work is making things easier for the user and also tutelage. Like MM to oversee and remove content that is copy of others, standalone Indies being licensed and the like.

I'm not really talking about copyrighting. I recall MM talking about people being able to make games and publish them on PSN and they simply said 'it's more complicated than you think'. I wouldn't know the hurdles involved, I just know they exist (at the moment). Something tells me though, because of what I said about creating usable content, a little dragging of the heals is likely to take place. I can't blame them for doing that because, like I said, it's imperative that quality content is there for all creators to use. Once the floodgates open, lots of people will want a piece of the pie, even if their content isn't up to snuff. I would imagine THAT'S the can of worms MM and Sony fear more than anything. The last thing they want to do is unnecessarily bring discontent into the community.

There certainly would be issues of people creating content for free or paid inside Dreams, and others copying to their paid content or indie. And that would be a problem they would need to solve on the ToS on all content generated inside Dreams is copyrighted to MM and define royalties conditions.

Yes, those weeds are easy to get into. I would think, if at some point in the future they give this the go ahead, they'll put a stipulation in place that any development team using Dreams MUST make every asset themselves OR draw only from MMs library.

Or that all asset made within Dreams is free for others to use (and only final product can be sold within Dream) plus for Indies launching using dream as tool it needs approval and licensing fee.

Let's hope they make something as easy to use as RPG-Maker.

Then it would be incredible if Dreams also have cutscene maker.
