Switch and ps4 sales very healthy.

Both are destroying xbox though. As Carl said, a bloodbath. He's right in saying pubg was big for it last year but who knows that might release on ps4 soon. 2019 is going to be ugly. If ps4 gets a permanent price cut then it will be outselling it 4 to 1 not 3 to 1. Switch will probably do too meaning Microsoft will be losing market share at a rapid pace.

I'm pretty sure it'll do over that just fine. Right now, it's easily outpacing the 3DS numbers worldwide without even getting it's first cut while the 3DS needed a massive cut to get going in the first place, then it had a revision almost each successive year to keep it going.

Is it yet, though? The 3DS sold about 7.6m the last quarter of 2012. Can you really see some 29.8m Switches shipped by the end of the year? It would have to seriously overperform to get there. Nearly 60% of a console's yearly sales, on average, are gone already, as of the latest global charts.

Either way, it's an interesting comparison, since both consoles released on similar periods and are tracking very closely so far.

I'm actually surprised that Xbox One is still scoring as well as it is in Europe, and 3DS as well. Who is buying these and where are they buying them?

30m by this years end? Definitely. It was at 19.6m by the end of June, so it would comfortably be at 22m as of the end of September (we shoulld officially know that in a week from now). All it needs is to ship less than 8m on the holiday quarter (Oct/Nov/Dec), which is basically what it did last year without bundles and only with Odyssey + Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as main sellers. This year, the Pokémon + Smash combo is definitely stronger than that, so I can't see them shipping less than last year all things considered.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Shipments after 6 quarters.

3DS-19.00m

Switch-19.67m

Also it would not need to over perform to remain ahead of 3DS since Switch shipped 7.23 million last holiday so 7.6m is definitely feasible.

Sometimes I think “Who’s still buying PS4? Everyone I know already has one.” Then I remember that I don’t know everyone.

My lil sister's friend bought a refurbrished ps4 today. Idk why he'd buy a ps4 and not pro doe.

Pretty cool to see the PS4 and Switch over 200k/w is that the start of the holiday purchasing I wonder or is it just the aftershock of Spiderman and Mario Party.

Think the fortnite switch bundles are on shelves now as well, crazy good marketing idea.

Seen a lot of advertising for RDR2 on TV the last few days too, very much pushing that as a PS4 game with the pro bundle advertised along with the game, can't wait to see the ratio of that games sales from PS4 : X1, Also a lot of Black Ops adverts which point out that dlc comes first to ps4 over other platforms so aye.... Sony marketing isn't getting slack in EU even though they are dominating in this region.

PS4 almost 3:1 the Xbox One.... is this the new norm?
it used to be closer to 2:1 but lately it seems like its often close to 3:1

per region is pretty strong too

US is around 2.5:1 EU is 3.2:1 and japan is 14:1 even in lands that MS has had a hold of for the last 10+ years Sony are able to land 2 and a half systems under TV's to each Xbox1

I think by the time PS4 is discontinued it will be one of the best selling consoles ever

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Yes at this point it´s safe to say the PS4 will be the second best selling PS system, behind PS2 and ahead of all the others.
