NES Classic is not a game console. It is in a category called Plug in Play. Counting it as a console is ridiculous. You can't buy games for it so its sales have no influence on game sales in the industry. What it is is a smart idea by Nintendo. What are the numbers btw?

Finally.... someone that gets what I am saying or my issue with the NESc.

You cannot buy games for it, you buy the box and thats it. Done. Finished. This is like buying a one of those old school hand held game things that allowed you move a car left and right dodging oncoming traffic.

I mean its a great ide by nintendo, but its not really doing anything to or for the industry as a whole.

It's closer to being something akin to a Rare Replay collector's edition but that won't stop some from trying to use it to fluff numbers.

I don't see Wolfenstein II in the Switch top... End of the line for the Bethesda-Nintendo alliance?

Is Nintendo losing third party support a wet dream of yours?

It can still play games, the single most important aspect of any games console.

For what it's worth, it's helping inspire other mini consoles.

I truly hope you are wrong.

This is one of those cash grabbing strategies that has this weird way of gaining traction but just shouldn't.

The Current generation consoles are more than powerful enough to run those games. Nintendo had it right with the virtual console thingy, sony has it right with PSnow because that at least allows you play games even if you don't have a console. MS has it right by allowing full BC on their XB1 platform (has it best If i may add).

I am obviously against stuff like this for the very reason that it may encourage others to do the same. So instead of make the PS5 BC out of the box with everything from the PS4 all the way dow to the PS1. Sony could then make a silly mini console that will take up another HDMI slot on my TV because this shit worked for nintendo.

Call me crazy, I just think this is the wrong direction BC should be going in.

Jesus I hope not. I don't want Sony doing a cash grab with a ps1 classic or a ps2 classic. Just release the games digitally for ps4 or ps5.

What if your an old school gamer who doesnt care about modern gaming and just wants to replay some of their favorite games as a kid?

Should this person have to buy a $300 console and all these games individually or should they have the option to just purchase a $60-80 console with a couple dozen classics?

I think the current consoles all have some way to play these retros titles as well.

I mean, my old TI-83 calculator can play games. I don't consider it a console.

The NES/SNES Classic is just an emulation device.

The contradiction i see is that he said Fortnite would have no affect and now its one of the reasons why it was clear June was going to be a good month.

It seems we all underestimated Fortnite. It is clearly one of the reasons all the consoles are doing so well this year. But yeah he should have expected more impact from Fortnite, since we saw the boosts PS4 and XB1 got from it in previous months.

How many sales have PS4 lost because of lack of crossplatform?

He can buy the original HW, still being sold around
