Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Hollow Knight sells 250.000 units in two weeks on the Nintendo Switch

I'm actually surprised to know this game is 20 hours long. Usually a game of this type isn't longer than 8 hours.

Really good numbers.
Switch being curated and having fairly small number of games certainly helps in comparison to shitfest that Steam has become (nearly 7.7K games released in 2017 alone), so I see why indies love it so much.

Wow nice! I did see it get lots of youtube views when it was announced at e3.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Wow, that is impressive. Feel like I saw ina thread earlier this week the game only sold 500k on the PC.
Very impressive it sold half that on the Switch in only 2 weeks when it came out a year later.

Edit: I've been on the fence with whether buying it or not. Being perfectly honest, Im not the best at 2 side scroller type games. So the period of time when I'm getting good at the game just frustrates me too much that I tend to not finish said game. Take Shovel Knight. Only like 4 levels beaten so far in that game.

The game actually sold about 1 million on Pc up until now, if Im not mistaken.Switch numbers are impressive nonetheless.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Anyone else still waiting for the physical version of the game?

(Team Cherry confirmed a physical release during a Reddit AMA)

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

If only the game were good. I regret buying it.

I know you will disagree with me if you have played the game for only a few hours. That Hollow Knight really lacks in many aspects only becomes apparent after ten or so hours.

Can you elaborate why?

I kind of agree with the overall sentiment, just want to see your reasoning.

Well, deserved. Beat the final boss. Going for 100%. Seems like I missed several areas.

I have 60 hours into the game. I disagree.

Only thing I really hate about the game is these f***ers.

Yeah, annoying little fuckers especially in the arena.
