Massive number.

But I take it that does include the remaster, so they’re actually cheating with this number. Funny, because they wouldn’t need to as both versions alone sold amazing already. This is probably the biggest new IP in decades. Congrats to Naughty Dog and Sony!

So when people were pointing out this game couldn't be included as a PS4 exclusive because it was a remaster, that's NOT cheating but when we are given the number of sales of TLOU it IS cheating. Got it.

Eh?

first game I got with my ps4. beat on every difficulty except the last one I think...hmm I never actually played this on my pro now that i think of it and suddenly have the urge to

Damn!

If someone asks why I'm using an alt account, CGI and Truckusaurus got me a temp approval until I get my iconic and notorious "kurasakiichimaru" account back. :p

I think the better example would have been GTA5 PS3/360 and PC/XboxOne/PS4 or the Switch Ports of Wii U games.

Nothing touches GTAV and comparing it to Switch ports, which are over 3 years late, is pointless. TLoU remaster was announced not long after the PS3 version and got released just a single year later.

A critically acclaimed TLoU 2 should have a sales potential of 15 million. 20 million+ if ported to PS5.

Ps5will have full backwards compatibility so it doesn need a port, just a 4k60fps patch.

Ot massive numbers and lol @ people saying it doesnt count when they include the remaster, a sale is a sale no matter how  and where it sold.

Having the game included with each PS4 in NA from july 14 to October 15 probably helped alot. Still a nice milestone for this game and well deserved for Naughty Dog.

Obviously it being on two consoles helps it's case, but don't you think a remaster that sells more than the original console it launched on is a good sign of it's legs? As in, 17 million probably isn't the ceiling of this game. 20+ million is more likely based on it's sales legs.

By the way just to cause no confusion I am not taking away anything from these numbers. They are strong numbers, no matter how you slice it.

More than expected...

Eh?

It's of no more relevance to say it includes remasters as it was to try and reduce the exclusives on the PS4 by excluding remasters. It's not cheating. It's sold 17 million copies.

The PS5 Exists.
