It is $80 AUD. Basically a normal price for home console games. The handheld pokemon games cost $60 here

Ah, expected. The trend of overpricing continues on. How about the cost of the Pokeball accessory?

They cost $70.... I was shocked for a couple seconds but realized that they do sell stuff like this at a very high cost.....

This will probably impact on people who usually buy both versions for themselves.

I have to admit that i cried while watching the trailer. Not because of the game but i am 33 now have a son a wife and listening to pikachus voice at the end just reminded me of that feeling when i got my first blue Edition on the gameboy. And all the things happened in my child hood. The game itself looks like the free mmorpgs on the internet but still that feeling was great but sad at the same time. Those times will never come back.

Absolutely pathetic that they go after pandering to genwunners and casuals, instead of listening to their core, loyal, fanbase.

This is the first mainline pokemon game I'm going to skip since I started playing Pokemon.

Looks like I'm going to have to wait through this rushed cashgrab of a game to get an actual real pokemon game.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Are people serious doubting let's go success? There haven't been a bad core Pokémon yet, and there for sure havent been a core title to sell bad.

It's not a core title, the 2019 game is the core title. This is a hybrid of a Yellow remake and Pokemon Go, so it's technically spinoff. As such, I think it will be the bestselling Pokemon spinoff, but I can't see it selling as well as any core Pokemon title sold (first versions), and possibly not even as well as the core title remakes sold.

Except Ishihara said it is a core title. Watch the conference at time 17:20.

It's not a mainline Pokémon, it's a spinoff. The mainline game is announced for the 2nd half of 2019.

I guess this was supposed to be the new core Pokemon. They showed it and then they realised that many haven't liked it. Then they panicked and someone came up with the idea of "let's tweet the core Pokemon is coming and in the meantime we rush to make a new one as usual".

:D :D

Uh, no. There was never any chance of Gen 8 coming out this year. The only people who would think that are those who are ignorant of Pokemon's release schedule.

Gen 1 - 1996
Gen 2 - 1999
Gen 3 - 2002
Gen 4 - 2006
Gen 5 - 2010
Gen 6 - 2013
Gen 7 - 2016

The shortest gap has always been 3 years. But now suddenly Game Freak is expected to develop their first HD Pokemon games on a home console faster than any previous Pokemon generation? That is a completely illogical belief.

Let's Go was never planned as a core game.

But in the end, it’s considered a core game.

everyone should watch the press conference and check what Ishihara said after the trailer hit.

though core or not, it’s a Pokemon game on the Switch. The first HD Pokemon RPG title in franchise history. It’s going to sell well. How well? We’ll just have to see.

and why are we assuming it’s not worth $60?

Yeah that's a pretty high cost for something so frivolous. Joy-cons can already be used for motion control ball throwing, so it's only unique functionality is to be carried around making noise. Don't think that's something many people are interested in.

So you got US/UM then? :L

I love it when people dont read the threads they post in.

Pokemon Lets Go (2018)-designed as a bridge for Pokemon Go players & former Pokemon players to begin/return to main series.

Pokemon Gen 8 (2019)-a new core entry for competitive players & long time fans.

They are listening to the core, loyal fanbase by taking extra time to make a true next-gen leap with Gen 8.

US/UM are my second favourite pokemon games infact, only behind Platinum.

I liked US/UM, it added quite a bit more on top of the vanilla sun/moon, imo.

My concern is that they shouldn't be wasting their resources on Lets Go and instead focus totally on Gen 8.
