They’re the slowest development team in the industry. It would take them 2 and a half years to make Tetris.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
Wasnt there a rumor or job posting about retro working on an immersive story focused game?
So this is just bizarre. Maybe they’ll take the racing genre to a new direction.
There is a rumor that says that Retro Studios was working on 2 games (one is this) and the other could have been canceled (the big one)

Even slower than Square-Enix's internal studios? :p

But... I never said that :P
I hope for and want a new Mario Kart since I played 8 to death on Wii U, including the DLC. 8DX with the revamped battle mode is great, but not enough to make me want to buy that game again on the Switch.
Its not that this is a bad idea and might even turn out pretty great. What I can't seem to understand is, I know that Retro has a great track record with the quality of games they release but why are they so inefficient with development. Monolith released Xenoblade X in 2014 and had Xenoblade 2 ready in year 1 for Switch.
We already know that MP4 is in the works so that takes some of the sting out of a possible reveal of this game unlike what Tropical Freeze had to endure. The thing is people hope that when Retro goes away for 5 years to make a game that they come back with something as ambitious as TLoU or like many here have said a sequel to Eternal Darkness or a new IP.

Damn shame that, Nintendo really needs to branch out more and try to make some more adult series to go alongside their plethora of family friendly series. |
Hold on, its just Kotaku says that it MAY be concalled down the line.Other sources just say it had/has a rocky development.
And even if iots cancelled, its not like everything will go down the drain.Lets just hope for the best.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

To me, this one looks like a game that will end like their last game: flopping.
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe
Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile
What the heck! Just make F-zero already instead of some bizarre star fox racing game
