By the virtue of Sony making it like Smash in many aspects? I feel like Sony made the game just to have a Smash like game. That's not wrong, but it does set it up to be compared with Smash.

And as I said, I do not believe these two platforms have isolated fanbases. Many of them could own both, and buy both. Ergo, the games both compete for that space.

Yes, Comparison will be there but my point is the characters. Why the need to compare it with Smash? Like I mentioned this game will be geared towards PS fan in general that will easily recognize the characters like N. Drake, Kratos, Knack, Hunter From BB, Aloy and ETC.

As for your 2nd sentence yes it can be isolated. There is a lot of people that owns only one platform. If you are mostly likely a PS fan you will go for PS platforms than Ninty and that is what Sony is targeting if ever the game exist they will not try to steal someone who loves Smash for Mario and Link or even Pokemon. They will target that gamer that loves a brawler within their fans that also love the PS characters.

Bottom line is so what if PASBR will not outsell Smash if the numbers are respectable and a success then they can cultivate the game to someday be successful as Smash.

As I have said before, I don't believe PS fans are unknown to other IP outside of their own preferred platform. Same goes for Nintendo fans. It goes to another topic of if Nintendo and Sony are competing. It is a good discussion to have, but it would be very offtopic.

As for PASBR being as successful as Smash. That is going to be very hard. Smash Bros is a household title now, and it basically built that genre to the point where games PASBR follow its example. Maybe they can make it, but as I have said before, they need to be even more like Smash. People need to get over this notion of clones being bad because they're rip offs. It is a wrong mentality.

It should just be called "All Stars" without Playstation on the title, it is too "clumsy". Smash Brothers, does not have NINTENDO on the title!

They probably are trying to avoid confusion since there are other All-Stars series, such as Sega All-Stars https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_All-Stars_(series)

What I meant is that whatever the title they put, they should not include "Playstation" in the title ;)

Personally, if they were to make a sequel, I'd hope it be closer to Smash than the original. While the concept was interesting and new, I lost interest in it the more I played.

That would be the safe thing to do, and a boring one too.

The current gameplay loop definitely needs a shake up, but not by ditching the KO system but rather adding in another layer that allows for points outside of KOing. Likewise, the ridiculous kill confirm attacks need to be taken care of because matches just moved into ppl doing the same attack over and over again. Perhaps a traditional HP system can help, with KO moves being instant kills. More ways to earn points.

Yeah, it would be safe, but the smash bros formula is a fun one that stands the test of time, so I think it's a fine safe thing to fall on if they're struggling with ideas, at least as a mode in the game.

I'm sure they can come up with improvements to the game, but I definitely think they need to if they're going to make the sequel. Though that's just me, since the mechanics of the game didn't stick with me long.
