Adam Boyes, CEO of Iron Galaxy, responsible for the Skyrim port on the Switch, is confident they can port Monster Hunter World on the Switch.

Can they do it if given the chance?

Didn't they specifically ignore the switch to make it as powerful as possible? Not sure I'd like to see the port job of that. Will end up worse than DQ 1 and 2.

And now even the devs are port begging? They are literally begging capcom for the job to port it.

No, they didnt ignore it, they started development long before they knew anything about Switch.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Well since Boyes was a Sony man, and Sony probably had their hand in some weird exclusivity deal. I think this is an interesting development. More information would be nice.

No, they said Monster Hunter World was in development for 4 years already before the Switch was even a thing, so at the time of development they went with what was available already and best suited to fulfill their vision for the game, being PS4/XB1.

While they don't exactly need to port Monster Hunter World, you'd think it would make sense for it to see a port in Japan at least. Switch should be pushing 7 Million units in Japan this year, which is a fair size userbase to ignore.

Would be another major release, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if it was sold another cool Million (probably more) on Nintendo's platform.

I think Capcom already has an MHP5 or MHPW in development for Switch. It will probably release late 2019. The question is, will it come to the West? Hopefully seeing how much of a success World was in the West they'd bring it over.

If Nintendo were savvy enough, they'd have Capcom announce the game alongside the Switch's online service and announce a new Smash and virtual console (as an extra subscription) in  same direct. That would be pretty big.

Is it possible? Yes.
Will Capcom allow it? Eh, probably not and if they do I wouldn't expect it to release anytime soon.

Am i the only one that really doesn't want world on the switch anymore? Gameplay wise it's great but the actual content is severely lacking when compared to 3u, 4u and generations. Along with that the story and characters are annoying as all hell. As much as I want monster hunter on the switch the last thing I want to do is sit through it's unskippable cutscenes, it's forced progression and limited quest options and fight the same 30 monsters over and over again. I'd much rather Capcom bring over an original game or the ultimate version

They don't even have any rights to the IP so their out of the picture and what Capcom does is their choice so enough port begging from them ... (they obviously don't have any inner technical understandings of the game itself either whether or not to make that assessment since they aren't handed down the source code)

On another note, it is great to see these guys enthusiastic about porting games to the Switch, regardless of what they port.
