So one of my students arrived late at class, and his father gave me a poor excuse like "Sorry I had some problems with a traffic officer on the way" I told him not to worry. A few minutes later, his eleven year old son, my student, said while he was laughing "My dad received a ticket because he was playing pokemon go, I have told him not to do it, but he's always catching pokemon while driving"

So, I think it's a terrible practice to be on the phone while driving, but to play any kind of app is a whole different level. What do you guys think? 

Zero respect if he's driving with his son present like that.

That's extreme idiocy. He's gonna kill or maim somebody.

And if he's driving alone?

Here in Luxembourg he would have lost his driving license on the spot. You're not allowed to use your phone while driving, period (calls through a car-integrated speaker system are allowed, though you,re not allowed to touch your phone put in a number to call). It just distracts your eyes from the road ahead and will lead to a major accident if he continues that way.

Reminds me of a news I hears once from Saudi-Arabia where everyone is texting while driving (or at least was at the time, it's a few years ago). Now when the mobile network crashed, it resulted in 40% less car accidents in the country during that period

He's driving distracted and presents a safety hazard to other drivers, property and pedestrians on or around the road. Still a D-bag.

That he is not an ounce better than those who drink and drive. Also that people like him are the reason I support self driving cars.

Nothing wrong with playing a game on your phone if you're careful. I do it all the time. All I ever hit was a squirrel on the road.
