I also like stats (probably one of the biggest subconcious reasons I joined this site), so I'll go ahead and share some cool things with you (this is a total nerd moment for me, sorry):

Haha, as you can see, my most recent project has been about electricity production and renewables in particular. I've thought about making a thread with this, might get around to it once complete numbers for 2017 are available (which should be on monday!). Well, of course as it came to be, as I got more involved with VGChartz, the inevitable would occur here as well. So, while I did make some more objective lists (such as who won the GUT, the members in the Discord server, etc.), it got more dangerous as I moved into the subjective. You see, that is not a good idea at all, for numerous reasons. One, if you let others know about it, it could result in some people being upset at their exclusion. However, let's assume that the list isn't actually shared with anyone. I can think of two main issues:

 

  1. You create a hierarchy in the way you treat people. See, if you make a list/have an idea in your mind of your favourite users, it's probably going to influence how you treat them.
  2. People are volatile. Relationships change, friendships form, and they also collapse. If you end up getting on bad terms with someone who you consider to have been one of your favourites, or rather people you're very close to, it can hurt a lot and make it much, much more difficult to move on from the past.
Now then, I hope this helped. I made the mistake of doing this in the past, and I will try not to do it again. It's just way too much of a headache and heartache for what it's worth.

I'm hoping to be in the middle of your list once we actually get to play together, I would say top but I'm realistic about my skill in that game

Impressive!

Even with the exponential growth of the renewable sources, it still has ways to go, though. I'll be looking forward to that thread.

The user tournaments on here are a bit weird tbh. I mean if you were with a bunch of your friends, would you ever start ranking them? Like "Tom you are my best friend. Jim you are my second best friend." etc... Its just a bit weird to me.

well that is a good indicator of who is liked and isnt too lol.
