Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Nintendo Switch is no better than the Wii

Aren't you going for a complete Nintendo Switch collection?

I would disagree.. I like the Switch (so far) better than the Wii. Wii was better for local multiplayer, but these days I don't play much of that anyway. The motion controls were a cool novelty, but it kind of wore off, and most games didn't even take full advantage of it anyway.

I appreciate the portability of Switch, and really enjoy the tabletop functionality. As my hands tend to cramp up, I also like that you can hold the two separate control nubs, as it's more comfortable and never cramps my hands. Also being an indie fan, Switch has a lot more of a robust lineup on that front, and even the AAA third parties are games I'm more interested than most Wii third party stuff. I also like the card media, and how quickly you can jump into your game. It's also home to my favorite Zelda game since the NES original, BoTW.

Wii might have been a more exciting and innovative concept at the time, but Switch is a better all around console with more functionality and versatility.

Wii's the second best Nintendo console behind the SNES in my book, Switch has a long way to go before it catches up to that.

lets just hope it goes on to sell as poorly as it !!!!!! Damn Nintendo deserve it!

May it instantly stop selling and burn with the Gamecube, Wii U , and Virtual Boy!!!

You would need to go back a couple of months for it to not have outsold the Wii-U and the screens would have to develop some way to fire shards of plastic into the users eyes to match the legacy of the Virtual boy.

Gamecube still has a few months of fight left in its numbers, but really I think it is almost a sure thing that the Switch will be a great seller for Nintendo which every Ninty fan should be happy about, more money in their coffers means more to spend developing games we love.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Wii was awesome, and if you think differently i will imaginary punch you in the face

Why would the successor to the 3ds be getting the same aaa+ third party support as current gen home consoles anyway?

Is this a troll post? From spurge? What's happening.

We're talking about a console in the Wii that had 7 years of support and a plethora of great titles and underrated ones that fans should look into and not the numerous shovelware (which best-selling consoles have anyway) along with a console that will soon reach its first birthday in the Switch.

Games won't suddenly come out after 1-2-3 months of development, no matter how easy it is to port them to a console. Give the Switch time. It has upcoming games that people want and has a really good 1st year collection of games.

More like 4 years, 2011 onwards was drier than the Sahara at noon.

It's okay if it's a Wii for 7 to 10 years. I think it's going to be a Wiiu, 3DS and Psvita coupled with a few more third party games
