Forums - Sony Discussion - We're Finally Getting a Wireless PS4 Pad Without a Light Bar

That´s good. That dumb light bar is probably one of the reasons why the PS4 controllers batteries have such low life.
If at least there were a way to turn them off.... but there´s not.
I´d rather have a controller without the lights, even with analog sticks in a different position, which is not a problem for me.

Yeah, the light bar is really annoying, the DS4's battery life is atrocious and they take quite some time to charge as well.

I like the design of that one, it reminds me of the 360 base controller, which is still among my all time favorites and I use mine almost daily for FIFA, but also for MGS and similar, third person games sometimes. The Nintendo Pro controller is also similar in shape and layout, and that's climbed all the way to the top of my favorites list.

I think I might actually buy one of these when they become available here!

Around the Network

I want one. Does it support motion controls? Most third party controllers I've purchased do not.

"expect it to mirror DualShock 4 pricing, at $45", haha, perhaps only in the US. Like 60 euros for a DS4 here in Finland.

Sony should just make a firmware update that allows to turn the lightbar off. It bothers me in the sense that it just kills battery life, and I am not willing to buy yet another controller just for that purpose.

...also, god damn does this look close to the XBO controller.
