I'd give it a 6/10, not bad but if they want a higher score from me they'll need more than that.

7/10.

It was ok, but I was expecting/hoping for better.

For a Mini Direct, they really had a lot of content to show, and I love it when they just go rapidly through these announcements, one after the next to keep things going.

They're basically porting every game on the Wii U over to the Switch, which is fine. It gives me a very good reason to play DKC: Tropical Freeze again, and that was one of my favorite games on the system! But, I've pretty much had my fill with Hyrule Warriors, and don't see the need to pick it up again. (Butk, seriously, at this point, just announce Smash Bros. 4 Deluxe and get it over with.) DLC updates to games are pretty cool, I'm definitely going to rock those Sunshine shades in Odyssey! But, nothing spectacular. And there was one or two surprises that were really cool, like Dark Souls.

In the end, I'm just a little disappointed that we didn't get any more new announcements of new 1st party games on the way. Sorry, but Mario Tennis is not gonna cut it.
I guess, I'm being a little too harsh, because it's a Mini Direct, and all of this hype and speculation based on rumors, I kind of set myself up, but still. Give us something to REALLY look forward to in 2018!

Nice announcements for the ones that skipped the Wii U era, other than that it was alright for a mini Direct.
But the thing is, we are entering a new year and we know so little about the future of the Switch... I hope they will do a big Direct on the anniversary of the Switch launch to talk about the upcoming updates and intentions to add stuff on the menu, online features, big titles.. Cause to me, this is not looking like a 20 million + year so they better announce something huge.

Hmmm I wasn't really as hyped after the Direct as I was going in but I feel like it was a little underwhelming. Dark Souls looks good though.

I never had a Wii U but I still have 0 interest in DKTF and Kirkby doesn't look too appealing although give me yoski details please!

But...

And this is a BIG BUT. For all three of Nintendos Mini Directs excluding this one (so far) a full length Direct has followed within 2-3 weeks for each one. 👌

The problem here is not the direct itself, but rather that everyone was expecting a full lenght direct, with big announcements.Rather, the biggest surprise was DS and Mario Tennis.

For a direct Mini, it was great.Awesome even. But for what it should have been, it was a bit dissapointing. And I wont lie that a port rather than a sequel of The World Ends with You got me pissed.Well, at least that franchise wasnt forgotten.

I will give it a 6.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

8/10 too many ports, and Nintendo played along too much with the hype. They should've just announced it as a mini direct a week ago. What was shown was okay though, because many Switch owners never had a Wii U.

Your number and what you say about it doesn't really match. Its okay to give it a lower score if that's how you feel.

They actually do match. For what it is (a mini-direct) it deserves an 8/10, for what it wasn't (large direct to outline the year) it can't be rated. It makes no sense to attempt the latter, but I did express my discontent with how Nintendo handled the hype. Points were docked for "too many ports."

I would give it an 8 because much of what shown (mostly ports) are things that I have wanted on Switch and will buy and indeed there are good deal of other ports that I do want (although with the exception of a Smash 4 3DS + Wii U port for Switch, should they not have a totally new Smash game for release this year, and GTA V should that ever come to the system, I would much rather they save other Wii U ports to Switch along with things like VC and remakes/old ports from other systems to 2019). Overall for something that mostly covers spring and a tad bit of summer it was pretty solid. With that being said though, we need new games as well, and that was largely missing in this Mini Direct (along with release dates and info for some previously announced 2018 content like Fire Emblem, Yoshi, and Project Octopath). Thus, I hope we get a Spring Direct (or I guess the latest would be E3, though I don't think they should wait that long and I think they should leave more room in E3 for 2019) to rectify that issue. If there is no major new content (system sellers like 2D Mario, Animal Crossing, ideally a new Smash, or some other major system selling or general surprises that makes people happy, then it would not really be a good year).

9/10 If they included Lost Sphear and SF30th would be higher. Ys8, TWEWY and SNK Heroines is enough to put it high.

Let me guess, more Illuminati theory idiocy?

Its the "Praise the sun" stance from Dark Souls.
