Coco, Thor, and Star Wars are all critical darlings, and Guardians and Born in China received great reviews. Batting more than .500 is great for a movie studio.

How am i joking? From your list I've seen half of those movies and they are great.
I dont understand your point.
If I remember correctly Fox big bet on Avatar 2 was set up to compete with Star Wars IX. I would think now Disney will space out releases with Avatar series shifted to avoid cannibalization. The challenge when you own so much is getting out of your own way.

I didn't mean to be demeaning. Sorry.
I'm just quite unhappy with Disney now having a 40% market share and at the same time owning huge media networks (ABC) and social networks (like the aforementioned Maker Studios) dictating what to consume.
Bristow9091 is right in that most of the Disney movies aren't shit. They just seem so safe and generic (imo). For instance, I think the 17 MCU movies are far too similar. After the first couple of movies I didn't experience anything new. If Disney was more likely to allow directors to bring something new and creative to the table, I'd imagine the MCU could serve as an interesting platform where every movie could feel like a new IP.
