Dude stop making stuff up from your ass. everyone here knows, who john harker is, he's reliable and his source is trusted on vgchartz, and resetera.

Wow I made a mistake.  I apologize.  Here's what happened.  I was looking at something on my tablet from the office and mis-read a m/m % gain, and then I just kept looking at the wrong number that I stored in Excel.  Instead of just complaining about the confusion on this site, I inadvertently added to the confusion for everyone. Now I'm both embarrassed at my mistake and really annoyed because it looks like Switch only sold slightly higher than the 770K that has been discussed here.

God they had a terrible month.  I (incorrectly) thought they had sold >1m.

What the hell happened to Nintendo?  This is pathetic.  December needs to be much much better.

800k is good, not a terrible month at all, and without pricecuts... it is just that PS4 and X1 have done really well.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

the 1.5 million is for xbox one best month ever.

Do u understand the less than < and greater than > signs. It did more than the best November ever but less than the best month ever  so basically between 1.3 and 1.5 million.

Tecnically, best XB1 month was 1.51 million. For all we know, XB1 may be at 1.5 million this month. Is unlucky but not impossible.

Seriously? Despite the release of Super Mario Odyssey within the period covered here, the PS4 almost sold twice as much as the Switch?
I assume these are figures in the US alone so there is the rest of the world to add but in that case there is the rest of the world to add to the PS4 too so I think it's safe to say that the Switch is not doing too good or at least not as good as what we have been hearing, you know about the Switch crushing everything else.

Or am I missing something here?

Yes, you are missing something here.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Hmmmmmm, 10 million units in 9 months is "not doing too good"? Yeah.... you're missing a lot, above the shoulders possibly?

The embarrassment wasn't that the X didn't sell, it was that Aaron Greenberg said according to his 'data' that the x would be the hottest item this holiday. Aaron is an embarrassment because he works there and he should know. The X was outsold by the PS4 Slim. The PS4 Slim WAS the hottest item this holiday. Also, since we know the X sold 430k we can calculate the revenue made my Microsoft in November roughly. The PS4 was going for 250% cheaper than the X so we can see how many PS4s were sold to account only for the X's revenue. The truth is that Microsoft didn't have to sell anywhere near the amount of PS4s to tie them.

430k *$500 = $215 million
$215 million /$199 = 1,080,000 PS4s.

So you can see that Microsoft winning revenue means nothing.

We can also calculate Microsoft's loss to be 100x430k or about $43 million overall for X.

The real question here is if the profit from the roughly 1 million S units sold could compensate in terms of profit.

Chances are, they broke even or went slightly negative.

But the truth is, if Microsoft can keep the X sales from falling off a cliff, they can continue to get high revenue. I am more interested in comparing the profits margins from the Sony and Microsoft. As many of you know, gaming companies have been know to sell their consoles at a loss to drive up software sales. What Sony does to impress is selling more for less and making more profit. These two models need to be analyzed in more detail.

Why are you pretending to know the profit margin on  the X lmao...

Sure, since I made clear that I'm talking about November and not since the initial release, you might wanna check your head before worrying about mine.

Not only does it seem that you can't read or understand what I said but on top you feel the need to resort to a mild aggressive reply.

If you don't have a theory about the situation discussed here I suggest you kindly refrain from posting then.

As for everyone else that wishes to peacefully debate or bring forth a theory on this, I'll be happy to listen to what you have to say cause as I have very clearly said, I might be missing something in the equation. You see my surprise does not even stem from the Switch having a weak month (Honestly it's not even that weak, just not as high as I expected) and any system no matter how successful can have an occasional dip here and there, but my surprise stems from the fact that this November is the release of Super Mario Odyssey so I think it's fair to say we were expecting stronger sales... Or as I said, maybe I'm missing something
