it's all about context, switch first holiday fully stocked, with mario, kart, splatoon, mario odyssey, and zelda, yea it's kinda bad. this is nintedo next handheld and console, i see there market shrinking.

I ask because that means PS4 in 2014 was horrible as well. Also PS4 had many hitters as well in that time frame.

Honestly speaking yes I agree Nintendo has done amazing job the first year and I myself am concerned for the next year. I just feel some are hyperboling because if these numbers for switch are "bad" than a lot of years for many consoles were bad.

xbone and ps4 had the same heavy hitters, and xbone took it's sales that month.

great support? the majority of the big franchises are mot coming out on the system, if you call late ports great support, i guess.

I call the indie support it is having great.I call the beginning of the interest it is getting great, with Shin Megami Tensei, Megaman, Outlast, Project Octopath, Tales of, Bethesda in general and so on.I mean, compared to PS4 is just decent, but that actually means the Switch is succeeding without them, and that paints a better picture for the system.

Not to mention the more the switch sells, the more third party support it will get.

Microsoft finally made the console XBox users were asking for, and Nintendo released their 2 most iconic IPs the same year.

PS4 no longer has the best looking multiplats (thats the XB1X) nor sells at the cheapest price (that's the XB1S)

What makes Sony's consoles so reliable that people still prefers them after so many years?

Games while there is still more than plenty of horsepower beneath the hood.

800k isn't bad, Switch didn't have any price cut and had stock problems in some stores. 800k just seems bad because the numbers of PS4 and Xbox One are very high, but is important remember that PS4 was 200 dolares and Xbox One X was released this month.

Probably Switch will have a very strong december.

Just for record, this are not official NPD numbers, this is information are from Mizuho Securities Equity Research, we dont have even real source.

We yet need to receive official NPD results next week, so its better too NPD from headline.

its an analysis from Mizuho Securities Equity Research wich is based on NPD PR they receive today

UPD:

And you can't just google it, you need to subscribe to their services just like NPD

Thats still just analysis from Mizuho Securities Equity Research, that still isn't official NPD result, even if is relly based on NPD PR they received today.

When NPD release official NPD results we will have real NPD thread.

And you have ofical NPD informations online.

And this is from that Resetera thread:

Mizuho has just sent the latest update on US/Japan console games sales to their clients, they usually use NPD numbers.

My source is a report from Mizuho Securities Equity Research, they send monthly update on US/Japan console game sales to their clients . Sorry I wouldn't be able to upload the actual report so you'll have take my words for it..just want to shed some light in the prediction thread :)
So in other words there is no nothing oficial about this informations that you provided, not alone official NPD informations or numbers.

Individually they don't but don't underestimate the power of a great library.

I wouldn’t waste your time arguing with him to be honest. Clearly a doom and gloomer!

Eh, I don't mind. Makes for an interesting exchange.

My only real take away from this thread is that the Nintendoomed crowd is still alive and kicking. Nintendo did well but Sony and Microsoft just did better mainly because it's hard to beat $200 and $190 respectively

brick & mortar sales must have been HUGE for sony.... because online it felt like the Switch and XB1s where pulling ahead.

I had the PS4 winning globally of course but in third place for NPD.

So, what's up with all the news about Nintendo Switch winning Black Friday we got from the media, that confused me pretty bad.

IIRC, it was winning in online sales which is great in itself.  But it seems the bigger picture paints something differently.

That is amazing numbers for the PS4, goes to show the power of discount + great library can beat even something that is hot as switch.

I'm not that surprised when the PS4 took the win in November, but then again I was more surprised than I thought I would have been.
